Urban Decay Naked Concealer

Concealer is a girls best friend, especially when said girl has troublesome skin or very dark circles that resembles that of a panda (no offence meant to the pandas of the world). When the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer came out I didn't have particularly high expectations as I have tried lot's of different concealers that haven't worked for me, hence why I haven't purchased it until now. The only thing that prompted me to pick it up was the "Ride Or Die Tag" going round on YouTube at the moment created by the wonderful and amazing Jaclyn Hill. So I thought I would check it out and I hopped onto the band wagon. I have to say I am disappointed in myself that I couldn't spot a gem like this until over a year after it was released, but it's in my life now and that's where it's staying.

So it's full name is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer I have the shade Fair Neutral which is the lightest and matches me perfectly. Here are my thoughts on this little guy and I know this is a bold statement so soon after receiving this and trying it out but I think this is my new favourite concealer. I think I have finally found my holy grail must have at all times concealer. Bold but very true. What's your favourite concealer?

THE DEETS: Let's go into some detail on this first. This contains Japanese Green Tea which revitalises and helps reduce appearance of fine lines to give a brighter complexion. It's practical and travel friendly with a doe foot applicator to avoid getting bacteria into the product like if in a pot. The packaging is simple yet sleek and is a handy size to pop into any makeup or travel bag. The shades are calibrated to co-ordinate with the Naked Skin Liquid and Powder Foundations to make shade matching easier and effortless. They seemed to have thought about this logically to ensure that the average everyday woman can find her shade, whether that's online or in store. The first part of the shade indicates the shade intensity (fair, light, medium) and the second represents the shade undertone (neutral, warm, cool). I like that they have included this to make it easier to pick the right shade for you.

THE GOOD: Now for the pros of this concealer, the reasons why I love it... It's a lightweight, medium yet build-able coverage concealer, that has a demi-matte finish. It doesn't settle into fine lines or emphasise any wrinkles or imperfections, and it doesn't get cakey or dry out the skin. There's no issues with fading, moving around, creasing or flaking and it still looks just as good at the end of the day on me, as it did at the beginning when I applied it. It covers blemishes and dark circles and comes in 8 different shades which come with different tones to ensure a compatible match.
When I apply this to my under eyes it blends out so easy and seamlessly with my Beauty Blender and it generally brightens up my complexion to give me a more wide awake appearance. But  what I also like is it's hydrating and cooling properties under eyes to really de-puff and soothe. I have on the odd occassion forgot to set my concealer and it has still looked great all day long.
It can be both a full coverage and a lighter coverage concealer as it's versatile, yet looks great either way. I prefer to blend my concealer out with a Beauty Blender but it does work well with a brush.

THE BAD: Although they have included tones with their shades, having only 8 doesn't make it a particularly wide range as there is one fair, two light, one medium light, one medium, two medium dark and one dark. There's not much of a choice and I was surprised that I found the lightest shade matched with my skin perfectly. If I wanted to make it lighter then I could but this is great for an everyday under eye concealer. It's not available at the drugstore so it is a slightly higher price than your average concealer at £17.50, it is however cheaper than the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer at £22.50, MAC Pro LongWear at £18, and Estee Lauder, YSL, Chanel they're all over £20.
