The Weekly Round Up #146

HAPPY AUTUMN! This week saw the official start of Autumn and I for one am very excited to see what trends we will see, and generally just being able to wear more burgundy red and navy blues in both clothing and on my nails. I love the fashion that Autumn brings and I am very excited for it. Anyway, onto today's favourites.

I'm a massive advocate of prepping the skin before applying makeup and finding a good primer is key. The Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Primer is something I've been trying from this months Birchbox and I love it's smoothing properties but it also brightens the skin. But for an extra glow, especially with my foundation of choose this week, I've been going back to the Emite Makeup Diamond Heart Base Primer which gives a soft focus, illuminated finish to the skin. Which works especially well with the full coverage Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation which I've been loving this week. My review is coming up soon I promise, but if been trying a few different ways to apply this and I think I've found the best one that works for me. Blending in with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, perfecting with the Beauty Blender and then setting with a bit of loose powder. It lasts all day and makes my skin look flawless. It's a good one, but there's the short version of my review.

Alright onto the cheeks and for the last month or so, I've relied a lot on the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium, but I have been using it on a smaller brush, this week I tried a larger applicator, the Spectrum Collections Tapered Brush as it blends product on its own, simply apply to the tapered end, and the outer sides do all the work. Paired with the Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush in Nude Mauve it's a great combination. This is an old fave and I dug it back out to switch up my makeup bag for the seasonal changes this week saw and I have rekindled my love for this very blush. Let's be honest it's pretty much identical to the Tarte Exposed Blush that I've been obsessed with the last few months, but it's still a great formula with excellent pigmentation.

Onto the eyes and I've been particularly loving the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, I know last week I said I wasn't all that keen on it but it's grown on me and what it does to my lashes is just amazing.

Now for the accessories I've been wearing and first is a pair of earrings. Now I'm not a massive fan of wearing earrings, but since finding this pair I've worn them everyday since. These Star & Moon Earrings are small enough for everyday and look nice with whatever I wear. I've been trying out this Choker trend that's happened recently and this Black Suede Choker Necklace has been the perfect piece for me. I love how it looks, I love that it's only thin so it's not too much of a statement, but it does finish off an outfit.
