The Weekly Round Up #145

This week I've been trying out a new foundation, some goodies from this months subscription boxes and more of the new masks from The Body Shop

This week I received and have been testing the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick, and I have been loving it so far. It's made good on all of its claims, and it is fast becoming one of my favourites. A review will be coming up soon, this week in fact, but the short version is it's great coverage, lasts all day, looks great and comes in 26 shades. It's expensive yes, you don't get as much product as you do a liquid, but I have to say it has exceeded all my expectations and I will be trying out more Hourglass products in the future as I've been very impressed with everything I have tried from them. I particularly like to blend this in with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush as its dense so it buffs the product out but it leaves a seamless finish.
The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is an incredible concealer and does wonders on my dark circles. I love this concealer and it's become my all time Fave in just a couple weeks. That's how awesome it is.

I've mentioned the Tanya Burr Palettes in other weekly faves and my review of these is also coming up this week, but the Birthday Suit Palette has been particularly great this week. The quality, price, longevity, blend-ability, pigmentation, they all get top marks and a rave review from me.

I've been trying out the new masks from The Body Shop and this week I have particularly liked the Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask. It looks like strawberry jam when you smear it on your face and I have to say it's a very weird sensation. But it's purposes are to revive and energise your skin, and exfoliate lightly to reveal a healthy and natural glow. It definitely does that and makes my skin feel super soft and smooth at the same time. What I love about all the masks from this range is that they don't dry out my skin or irritate them as the ingredients are of such high quality and from the best producers that I am confident that what I am putting on my skin is good and will really work.

I've been trying out the products from this months beauty subscription boxes and these are the stand outs...
Glossybox teamed up with RED Magazine to bring some of their editors faves, and we also got to choose whether we wanted the waterproof or non waterproof version of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. It's a cult favourite and I finally got to try it out. I thought it would be a bit more clumpy and add a bit more volume than what it has and maybe it's because it's only a sample or you have to layer it up a lot but I like the volume and definition it gives my lashes with just two layers and topping it off with the Benefit Roller Lash (although I use that after any mascara).

Black eyeliners are a staple in my makeup bag and this Rodial Smokey Eye Pencil Black has been a great addition to my stash. It's pigmented and creamy but once applied it doesn't budge, smudge or disappear, it stays put all day and I love that about this. I also like to smudge it along my top lashes and again once blended and set, it looks amazing and stays there. Great eyeliner.

Birchbox had some incredible products in it this month too and here's a few that I have been putting to the test and have ended up really liking. First for makeup...
I love skin smoothing and brightening primers and the Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Primer has both of those properties and makes my skin look incredible. It's a facial brightener and smoothing base that I apply before my foundation and it keeps everything in place and looking it's best. This is a great primer and I may even purchase the full size which says a lot considering I've only had it this week.

There was a great range of products in Septembers Birchbox and now for a shower product...
The Nuxe Prodigieux Shower Oil was a product I didn't think I would use much but after seeing a feature on Instagram about it I thought I would give it a try and I have to say I am so glad I did. My skin has never felt so velvety soft and smooth and it's all thanks to this. It has a slight golden shimmer to it to make your skin look radiant and glowing which is great and it doesn't smell to overpowering or obnoxious so you can use whatever lotion over the top.

Finally is a hair care product and with my shorter hair I love blow out volumising sprays and also in this months Birchbox I received the Amika Bonbshell Blowout Spray. It protects and repairs damaged locks, whilst adding volume and texture too. It can be used on all hair types and it smells really great. I've used this a couple times this week and my hair looks so shiny and soft but with lift and volume that I didn't have before. Plus it actually lasts for a few days not just for the first few hours.

I don't tend to mix my jewellery up anymore. I wear a few staples pieces and that's it, but when I saw this online I just had to pick it up. This is a Marble Pendant. I put it onto my Pandora Chain as it's the perfect length and thickness for me and I have been loving how this necklace looks with all sorts of different outfits. From work attire like skirts and dresses to the more casual jeans and tee shirt kind of deal.

That's it for this weekly round up. Tomorrow is the start of another week, and to kick it off I have Septembers Birchbox VS Glossybox, so make sure you come back tomorrow to check out the other goodies from the subscription boxes.
