September Favesies

It's monthly favourites time, and this month saw the start of Autumn which is possibly my favourite season of them all as I love the dark burgundy colours and layering up my clothes to keep me nice and warm. There is something about lighting a candle in the Autumn which is so much more satisfying than any other time of year. So here's what products I have been loving...

SKINCARE: I have been testing out some new face masks from The Body Shop, as part of their SuperFood #DareToMask range. I've not yet completed my review on the masks as I want to ensure I get a thorough test of each mask but I have to say that these 3 are my faves so far. The Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask is an exfoliating clarifying mask which really helps to spruce up your skin if it's feeling particularly clogged or if you have worn a lot of makeup. The Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask looks and feels like you're putting jam on your face, my dog isn't so keen on this but it's a great mask to give your skin a little pick me up mid week and get everything looking healthy and glowing again. Finally is the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask which I like to use on a Sunday evening as my weekly detox mask. It draws out impurities and generally just makes my skin feel clean and ready for a new week. They also have the British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask and the Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask which I also like but am yet to try out a few more times to really get a true opinion.

More skincare now and I replenished my stock of the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum this month which got me super excited as I love this serum. This is one of the best, an most expensive serums I have used and despite the large price tag, I do think it's worth it. It smooths and softens my skin, balances it out and helps imperfections, dark marks, scars, pores etc. I have to say it's definitely a must have in my skincare routine and I hope I won't ever be without it again.

MAKEUP: This month I was able to try the new Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick, another pricey product but definitely worth it. I haven't tried a stick foundation before but after seeing all the rave reviews about how amazing this was, how it was full coverage but undetectable and long lasting it went onto my wishlist. My review is on it's way tomorrow, but I have to say this has made it's way into my top fave foundations now. Definitely one to try if you're looking for a new foundation to try and don't mind the splurge.
The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer has been another new product that I fell in love with. This has also made it's way into my top faves and I think it may even be my favourite-est concealer of all time as it is just so incredible and conceals my dark circles so amazingly that I just cannot believe it. for the first time in a long time I actually look like I have slept for 12 hours when realistically it's only been a couple. Plus it's around £15 so it's not exactly high end prices. I even have a back up for those emergencies when I forget to repurchase when running low, that's how much I can't be without it. I know I have waffled on about the Tarte Exposed Blush for a long time now, but this month I reached for the drugstore alternative which is the Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush in Nude Mauve as I wanted to switch it up a bit, I know, going crazy. I love how this looks on the cheeks, it's still long lasting and the pigmentation is incredible. It's a lot easier to get your hands on if you live in the UK and it's a lot more affordable than the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes. I still love those but this is a great drugstore alternative.

The Tanya Burr Eyeshadow Quads have been pretty much the only palettes I have used this month. I originally picked up the newest ones (the two on top of the bunch) but after loving those so much I picked up the rest. You can see my full review and swatches here, but I have to say I really do love Fairlytale Dream and Birthday Suit the most. You can find them on Feel Unique which is where I picked mine up from for just £6 each, of you can find them in Superdrug. I love the pigmentation, the shades ranges, the quality of the shadows is just incredible and something you would expect to see from a high end palette not a drugstore one. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for gifts for Christmas or just as a little treat for yourself.

This months subscription boxes had some incredible products in and ones that I have been using all month so I thought I would throw these in too, but to check out the full post click here
From Birchbox the Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Primer & Brightener is a great product to just add a bit of a glow to your skin but also prepping it for makeup. I have been using this under all my other foundations and it still looks great and makes my makeup last all day so it's definitely an option if you're looking for a primer. The NUXE Prodigieux Shower Oil has been so lovely to have in the shower as it makes my skin so soft and smooth, the scent is very relaxing too and it doesn't linger too long but when I get out the shower I can smell it for a little while after so it makes me feel clean and best of all my skin feels moisturised and with Autumn here now and the cold weather rolling in this is important for me to get into taking care of my skin again. Also from Birchbox was the Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray and I have been loving this with my shirt hair. I tend to always use a volumising spray after I've washed my hair and this one has been great to add some volume and texture to my hair. It really does give some lift and it smells nice too although I can't smell it after my hair has dried which is kind of disappointing. I don't know if I would repurchase the full size but it would definitely be an option.
Finally for products is the stand out from this months Glossybox and that is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. We were able to choose which formula we received, Waterproof or Original, I went for the Original as I have heard so many amazing things about it that I wanted to try it for myself.. It was a rocky start but after a few goes I actually really love this mascara now. Not sure if I would repurchase the full size but if I was to splurge on a higher end mascara it would be this one. I expected it to be quite clumpy but it's not although it does add volume and defines the lashes too which I really like in my mascara. A thumbs up from me.

Finally is a fashion piece that I have been enjoying a lot this month and that is this Black Velvet Choker. These are very much in fashion at the moment and there are lot's of different styles and colours and thicknesses but I like this as it's simple, minimal and it can really dress up an outfit which is great for me as I can be very lazy with my fashion some times. I purchased this on eBay as I didn't want to spend too much on it as I wasn't sure how much use I would get out of it but now I am scouring the internet trying to find the perfect one for me. This one comes close but it's missing something that I can't put my finger on. But I love it all the same.

I of course have to mention my tattoos that I got this month as I just love how they turned out. They're still healing at the minute but it's passed the itchy stage which was just torture.

Anyway, I hope you all had a great month and have been enjoying the start of Autumn. I would love to hear what you loved this week so let me know in the comments or on my social media. Thanks
