This month theme is Heroes. It's been packed with some of the most heroic beauty must-haves from iconic brands to problem solving cult favourites. Let's see what they are...

MODEL CO. Highlighting Trio £14
This month we got to choose whether we received a Creme Rouge or the Highlighting Trio. I am more of a highlight kind of gal so I picked this awesome trio up. The shades are Champagne, Peach Bellini & Bronze, they're the most beautiful creamy texture, they're pigmented and blend effortlessly. Great for highlighting on their own but also for providing a base for the cheekbones, brow bone and eyes for an instant glow.

JANE IREDALE Smooth Affair Primer & Brightener £36
This is my favourite out of the whole box. I love smoothing brightening primers and the fact this does both in one makes me very very happy. I love how smooth and silky it makes my skin feel and although it doesn't contain any shimmer, it does brighten and add a healthy look to my complexion. I;m not sure about it's claims to minimise pores but it still does a great job at priming and smoothing to increase makeup longevity. It's up there with the more expensive makeup products but I will see how I feel about it once I have finished this little guy and whether I have something similar or if I need this in my life.

AMIKA Bombshell Blowout Spray £14.99
There is a real mix of beauty products in this months box, we've had makeup now it's time for hair. This is a lightweight spray for styling, a volumising, smoothing and texturising all-in-one. Containing nourishing antioxidants to strengthen and repair damage to your locks too.

NUXE Prodigieux Shower Oil £10
Now for skin and this was one of those products I dismissed when initially opening the box, but after seeing it featured on Instagram I gave it a shot and I am so happy I did. I love how soft and smooth this makes my skin feel. It has golden shimmers in there too to add a summery glow to the skin, and even though Autumn is pretty much upon us, I still love how this makes my skin look and feel. I don't know whether I would purchase the full size, but I would certainly contemplate it after using this sample.

POLAAR The Genuine Lapland Cream £15
Finally from Septembers Birchbox is this skin savior that is packed full of antioxidants and vitamins to nourish and protect dry skin. It can be used anywhere that you suffer with dry or irritated skin. I have tried the Moisturizing Gel from this brand before and I really like that so I will be popping this little guy in my bag for emergencies especially since that cold weather is coming.

That's it for Birchbox this month, I really like most of the products in here and will definitely be getting my use from them.

This months Glossybox is a Red Magazine The Editors Choice and we were given the chance to choose which formula of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara we wanted to receive. There was also a little surprise from The Body Shop, so here's what I received this month...

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara £19.00
Let's start with the mascara I chose. I decided I wanted to try the original formula of the Better Than Sex Mascara as I have herd so many amazing things about it that I just couldn't say no. I'm not a massive high end mascara buyer but I never say no to a sample. I was actually expecting for this to be a tad more clumpy, not that that is my kind of lash look but from the wand and how others have described it I thought it would be a bit more va va voom, but it actually has a great amount of volume, length and definition without looking spidery. This may be one of those high end mascaras I end up buying, we shall see.

VITAMASQUES Hydro Face Mask Rose Of Jericho £7.99
Next is a sheet mask, and I have tried a few different types of these masks but I am not an avid sheet mask user so I have never heard of this brand before,  but for the price I hope they are great, This particular mask has been designed to provide retain hydration and moisture in the skin, thanks to it's patented technology, If you want to read more then you can check out their website on this. It says to leave the mask on for up to 30 minutes and it will keep skin hydrated for up to 120 hours. The Rose of Jericho enhances and is supposed to further optimise moisture retention in the skin and with the colder months coming up, the more hydration I can get into my skin the better. This is a definite thumbs up and I will let you know how I get on with it.

REVLON ColorStay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat £7.99
I am a true avid user of the Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat but I have heard some great things about the Gel Envy Top Coat from Revlon, but this also has the Diamond feature too which makes nails extra shiny. I will definitely give this a go but chances are this will be finding it's way to my Mum.

GOSH Long Lasting Lip Marker in 005 Soft Rose
You may notice a light pink patch right below the swatch of this product. I did a bigger swatch in the shape of a love heart but when it came to photographing it it didn't look right, so I tried to remove it using a baby wipe and the darn thing stayed put. Even this little swatch is still on my arm as I am writing this the next day and no matter how much I scrub at it it's not budging. It's very much a lip stain, and although this isn't my kind of colour, I can imagine the darker shades being very convenient and long wearing.

RODIAL Smokey Eye Pen £17.00
Black eyeliners are one of my staple makeup products. Whether it's just to line my top and/or bottom waterline, to smudge along the lashes or to use as a base to get a deep smokey eye, they're a must have and I don't leave home without one.

THE BODY SHOP Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Detox Mask £15
This was a bonus product in this months box. I have been trying out this range of face masks since they were released and this one in particular is one of my favourites from the bunch, so I'm glad I have a little pouch of it so I can take it travelling with me. It dries like any normal clay mask and it just draws out impurities. What I love most about this mask though is that it doesn't dry out my skin or make my skin red and irritated. Once removed my skin feels soft and comfortable and I simply continue with my skincare routine. But by morning any breakouts are visibly reduced. It can also be used as a targeted spot treatment.

This week it is a very tight squeeze but I think that BIRCHBOX wins the best box for September. But Glossybox was definitely so close behind with the TBS Mask and the Too Faced Mascara, but Birchbox scraped by with the Highlighting Trio, Blow Out Spray from Amika, the Jane Iredale Primer and the Shower Oil from NUXE. I am really looking forward to next months. So far this year every box has some incredible products in there so I can't wait for the remaining 3 boxes for 2016.
