My Top 5 Palettes

It's been a great week so far, and the weekend is almost upon us, so for this fine Friday morning, Here is my blog post...
I am a massive lover of makeup palettes and so it was about time I put together an edit of my top 5 faves.

5. Coming in in fifth place is the Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Palette. Now I love these shadows, the shade range, the texture, the pigmentation. The original Tartelette palette was all kinds of matte goodness, but what I love about the In Bloom is that it has shimmery shades and it's an everyday kind of palette, a neutral eyeshadow lovers dream. Let's face it, it's stunning and it deserves it's place in my top 5. Tarte makeup hasn't been very easy to find in the UK but you can now purchase Tarte on QVCUK or at Sephora US online although the shipping is a bitch so you have to make a big order for it to be worth it, so you could also order some of the other brands in today's post as they are also stocked there.

4. The Lorac Pro 1 was the start of an incredible line of palettes for the Lorac brand and I am so glad I managed to get my hands on one of these because this is a go to palette for me and was my top for a long time. This palette has a top row of matte shadows and a bottom row of shimmers. Each formula is as good as the other, they're pigmented, vibrant shadows, long lasting and look incredible on the eyes. It's like a Urban Decay Naked palette but better. I love Lorac shadows and I am keen to catch up on the Pro range from them because if this palette is anything to go by, they're going to kick ass.
I just wish they were more accessible here in the UK. Lorac can be found at Nordstrom or Amazon if you live in the UK.

3. Next is my most recent purchase and it went straight into my top 5 instantly. The Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette. This has not only eyeshadows (three) but also a bronzer, two blushes and a beautiful highlight. Now I'm quite biased towards Miss Tilbury because I think her products are incredible, but this palette surpassed all my expectations and is a daily staple in my routine. The bronzer is great even for fair skin but looks particularly nice with a tan, you have two shades from her Swish & Pop Blushes which are versatile and very flattering shades. The highlight, oh the highlight is just heavenly. I love this as a minimal makeup highlight to really get those cheekbones popping. It's so stunning and I cannot rave about Charlotte Tilbury makeup enough. Definitely recommend spending those few extra pennies on good quality luxury makeup as a treat every now and then.
You can find Charlotte Tilbury on their website Charlottetilbury.com, or Selfridges, or John Lewis to name a few.

2. My last two are from the same brand, Zoeva. Now I've mentioned this brand a lot in the past year or so but for good reason, they have affordable makeup and makeup brushes which are top top quality and are definitely worth your attention. So in second place is the Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette, and the reason I love this is because it's out of my comfort zone yet I get a lot of use out of it. I wasn't a warm shadow kind of girl but this palette changed my mind. I love the burnt orange, red shades for blending into the crease, and the golden bronze is just stunning however it's used. I get a lot of use out of the dark brown to add some depth and smoke out my looks, it's just the perfect shade. There are some shades I don't use too much but overall I think it's a great palette and when the time comes for a red pink shimmer then this is the palette I will be coming too. I've done a look on my blog with 3 lip options (see here) so you can see how versatile this palette is and how many different looks you can get.

1. Finally in top spot, the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Palette. This was launched some time last year along with two other eyeshadow palettes and three blush palettes, and I have enjoyed a lot of those palettes, but this one by far stands out and is the one I always end up going back to. It's mainly warm shades but it does have some slightly cooler/neutral tones in their. So, some of my fave shades? ND010 is a perfect rose gold shade. ND020 is a taupey bronze which has a beautiful subtle shimmer running through it. ND070 is a great matte taupe to run through the crease as a transition colour. I like to mix ND100 with ND140 as it creates a really pretty shimmery champagne shade great for all over the lid or in the inner corner to brighten things up. ND130 is what I use as a base all over my lid to set any concealer or primer before applying the other shadows. Once the base is down, I use ND150 as my first transition crease shade as it's the perfect warm brown to get things defined and looking blended. I love this palette, it's less than 30 quid and it's definitely worth the money. You can find Zoeva on Beauty Bay if you're in the UK or on their website.

That's it for today's post. I am making another journey to the Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge today for MRI and CT Scan Results so I really hope that by the time today is over I have something in terms of answers as to what the hell is wrong with my hip and why I am in pain 24/7. Fingers crossed. To anyone who suffers with chronic pain, how do you deal with it? I've had it for 5 years and I don't think I am coping particularly well. I'm kind of bitter about the whole me being in pain all the time situation and so if you have any tips that would be great. Okay that's it for today.
