May Favourites

I'll skip the bit where I say I can't believe it's the 1st June already because I say it almost every month I think and we're already half way through 2016. Anyway, today is all about the beauty products I have been loving through this month. Some are new discoveries, but some are old faves. So let's get into the good stuff.

MAKEUP: I've been loving the highlighted and contour look this month with a simple winged liner and a small amount of eyeshadow - these 3 products have helped me achieve it. First is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Moonstone and this stuff gives the best glow I've found. It's potent but it looks beautiful on the skin. I've been pairing this with the Too Faced Cocoa Contour Palette as it has the perfect contour powder in for my skin tone. I'm not too fussed about the other powders, the shimmery highlight is just too glittery, and I have a powder I like to set my makeup so the matte highlight isn't really used much. But unfortunately they don't sell the contour powders separately so I have to lug this whole bulky palette around which isn't ideal but It works. For the winged liner, I have just been obsessed with the L'Oreal Perfect Slim Liner as it is the easiest and fastest liner to apply. I love how black it is, it goes on like a dream and doesn't flake off or anything. If you need some help in the winged liner department, this basically does it all for you.

TOOLS: I also wanted to include a new Real Techniques brush trio that I've been using this month. There's an exclusive to this set Cheek Brush, a Duo-Fibre Contour Brush and a Retractable Lip Brush and they have all been incredible and fit nicely into my daily brush edit.

SKINCARE: As for skincare, there's been two products that have really stood out this month, first is the Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial which I have been adding into my nighttime moisturiser to add a hydration boost, but it also really helps to amp up my skin's natural glow by morning which works great for the makeup look I have been going for. I have also been really loving the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Scrub and I have mentioned this a lot this month as it's become my favourite manual exfoliator to make sure that my skin is super clean. I particularly like to use this when I've been wearing something like the Revlon ColorStay or if I've worn a lot of makeup that day as it just makes me confident that I've removed every scrap of makeup so it won't clog my pores and cause breakouts.

BODY CARE: This month the sun made a quick appearance and so legs were being shown, which mean't the self tanner was in dire need. So my quick tan me up routine was to use the Soap & Glory Flake Away Scrub to get everything soft and smooth, then using the Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Lotion with a little of the St Tropez Tinted Gradual Tanner I was no longer so blindingly pale. It's a great combo and it lasted pretty well for a gradual tanner and boy that moisturiser is incredible. It smells delish but it makes my skin feel so soft and smooth it's just amazing, highly recommend it.

HAIR: This month I received my first ever Look Fantastic Box which I was way too excited about. But my favourite thing by far that I received from the box is the Wet Brush. Now this has changed my hair brushing game. I have very knotty hair, I sit at a desk at work for 4 hours and my hair would still be knotty. But this brush has been incredible and I no longer get headaches when I brush my hair, which is very good news for me and for my head.

Not as many favourites as I normally have but don't forget to check back on Friday for my Monthly Round Up where I show you the other random things I have liked, most popular posts, blogs I've been enjoying etc.
