Birchbox VS Glossybox: June 2016

It's time for another Birchbox VS Glossybox, and this is the Summer edition, including some goodies which will get me through Summer. There's some great brands in here, some I've never heard of or tried and some which I have discovered through these subscription services. I really like the boes this month so I hope you like todays post.

This months Birchbox theme is Paradise Found, the boxes are really cool, they're more like a drawer than a box, and I really love the patterns on them - one has pineapples and the other has palm trees (shown above). These goodies will see me through the next few weeks, and range from a self tan face mask to a cheek and lip tint, and body oil.

JELLY PONG PONG Paradise Pigments in Cake Pop or Fig Jam £17.95 Up first is an incredible smelling,  ultra-hydrating cheek and lip colour. It allows you to incorporate colour into your every day look. It's super pigmented too so need to remember to be careful.

PERCY & REED Reassuringly Firm Session Hold Hair Spray £12 I use hair spray on the daily but it's one of those products that I don't really remember is an essential until I'm all out. Percy & Reed is a very good brand for hair care, I've tried a couple of their products before and been impressed so I am hoping this will hold curls and it says it's humidity-resistant and free from that crunchy feeling which is just the worst. I have had a look at some of the other products from this brand and I really want to give them a try so if you have any recommendations then I would love to hear them.

MONU PROFESSIONAL SKINCARE Relaxing Bali Body Oil £29.95 A good luxurious body oil is a great pamper treat and it smells amazing as it has Sandalwood and Rosewood, but they are also great for taking care and soothing tired muscles and using Apricot Seeds to nourish and hydrate the skin's surface.

JAMES REED Overnight Tan Sleep Mask Tan Face £25 The traditional self tan is one that you leave to develop either overnight or whatever, so why not do that to tan your face. This is a self tanning face mask which you leave on overnight. It's a clear gel, fast-drying, colourless product which develops overnight and creates a golden glow overnight while you snooze. True beauty sleep. They also have a body version, along with gradual tanners, bronzing mousse and tan accelerators so if I like this, I will definitely be giving these a go too.

AÏNY Pure Lumière Gommage Pureté Eclat Visage £25 This is a brand I've never heard of before which is why I love these subscription boxes so much. This is a gentle exfoliator that turns into a nourishing milk when it comes into contact with water, releasing a burst of Jojoba-packed microspheres to exfoliate. It's said to leave your skin smooth and radiant. I am all for a gentle exfoliator. Although I have no idea how to pronounce 90% of the words, Pure is actually the only once I know for sure how to say.

There's not a specific theme for this months Glossybox but there are some of Summer's most exciting beauty products, and I am really looking forward to trying out all of these products.

SPA TO YOU Konjac Sponge £6.99 Konjac Sponges are great tools to gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin, Muslin cloths can sometimes be a tad too harsh, and I really like how my skin feels once I have used one of these. I am really looking forward to using this. For only £6.99 I think it's a great price and will definitely re-purchase once it comes to the end of it's life.

ORIGINS GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser £24 This is, or used to be a cult beauty product, and I have only tried a few Origins products before and I used to have the full size of this. It smells incredible, it's oil-free, lightweight moisturiser that is refreshing and instantly energises and hydrates the complexion. With coffee beans and Panax Ginseng to recover and revive lack-lustre skin. I'm looking forward to using this again.

DE BRUYÈRE After Sun Lotion Monoï £9.48 After sun lotion isn't something I have used much but I do understand the benefits of using it, even if your skin isn't burnt and you've just been in the sun for a while. Plus it helps to prolong your summer tan and with Monoï (Gardenia Petals soaked in Coconut Oil) and Vitamin E nourish the skin and also soothe and calm it so there's no irritation and it smells amazing too.

LADIVAL Sun Protection Spray SPF15 £19.99 SPF is an absolute must have and although this only has SPF 15, it's still able to protect the skin so on an overcast day, this would be great to keep your skin protected. This sun screen offers protection against four different types of UV rays which many other sun screens don't. It's non-greasy, water-resistant and free from perfume - great for sensitive and even eczema-prone skin. Also great for those who suffer from prickly heat and sun allergies. I will definitely be giving this a try and being in a spray bottle it's convenient and easy to apply. I didn't realise that this range was available in Boots, I've never seen it before but I like that there is SPF 50 so if I like this then I may pick the higher SPF up.

EMITÉ MAKEUP Lip & Cheek Tint £12.50 This is a two-in-one cheek and lip tint, which is perfect for a quick and easy makeup look, you simply dot onto your cheeks and lips and blend in, and you're done. This brand has some great products in so I am really looking forward to trying this out.

AUSSIE 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner £1.09/£4.99 I've tried this product before and I love it. I've gone through numerous bottles of this and it's a great deep conditioning treatment that only takes 3 minutes to work it's magic. This is a great little bonus in this months box, it's perfect for throwing in a travel bag or the full size is only £4.99 so is affordable and easily available in Supermarkets and drugstores.

So it's pretty level on the favourite this month. I really like the products in both boxes, so I think this month it's a tie. The Cheek Tints from Emite Makeup and Jelly Pong Pong are great for a quick and easy makeup look. The James Reed Overnight Self Tan Mask is a product I am most excited about as I really like the idea of it and hope it gives a natural healthy bronze glow. The MonuSpa Bali Oil is very appealing to me for the relaxing muscles aspect of the product, and soothing tired skin. The Konjac Sponge is an incredible tool and I have been meaning to try some other types, brands, infused ones, and this seems like a great quality one. The Origins GinZing Moisturiser is going to be my new morning moisturiser from now on I think. I love the refreshing wake up call it gives and it's light enough to be great under makeup - Plus I need all the help I can get in the morning to wake up.
