5 New Things I'm Loving

It's Monday morning again. I had a great weekend, spent it with family at a beautiful country park in Tattershall for my brothers 30th Birthday. The weather was amazing, the views were just stunning, lot's of lakes, log cabins and static caravans. We watched the jet skis and fly boarding, and lot's of cuddles with my 5 week old Nephew Zackary.  It really was perfect. I love going to that place and it's great even just for a weekend break. I got a little sun burnt on my arms and neck although I really wasn't dressed for the heat wave as I only had jeans, hoody, tee shirts and boots. Now good, but I survived. Anyway, on to today's post. There have been a few things I've purchased recently that I've been loving and rather than doing my standard haul posts, I thought I would try them out a little, get a first impressions and then do a full review at a later date. So here's what I've been trying out recently...

The Body Shop Piñita Colada Exfoliating Cream Body ScrubWhen I think about body care products, 99% of the time my brain automatically thinks of The Body Shop first. So when I saw the new Piñita Colada range I just had to pick something up, and I decided to go for the Body Scrub as I have an abundance of lotions, butters and shower gels.
The scent is just divine, it's a slice of topical, coconutty heaven and I cannot get enough of it. What I love about the body scrubs from TBS is that they're not too harsh so for my sensitive skin, they get the job done really well so my skin is nice and soft and smooth but doesn't irritate or damage the skin. This scrub is particularly great as it's a cream formula and there are real pieces of shredded coconut so it's not too abrasive, and I mean let's be honest, who doesn't want to smell like a tropical paradise?

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a PaletteI think anyone who has tried anything from the artist that is Charlotte Tilbury will agree that she has a passion and a way about her that makes her love of makeup and artistry show through in her products, that's a pretty nifty trick and not something every makeup artist can deliver in their own makeup line. But CT knows her stuff and my love for her Filmstar Bronze & Glow Palette made me want to try this palette.
There's 3 eyeshadows, 1. to brighten, 2. to enhance and 3. to smoke, there's 4. a face bronzer, 5. is a Blush Swish with 6. as a Blush Pop, and finally 7. is a face highlight. All are beautiful formulas, the perfect shades for an everyday, natural beauty kind of look and I have to say I am really impressed with the palette in general. I purchased mine from Selfridges as on the CT website it's sold out, but you can also find it at John Lewis too.

The Body Shop Drops Of Light Pure Healthy Brightening SerumSome more goodies from The Body Shop now and I wanted to talk skincare. The Brightening Serum is from the new Drops of Light range, and this is the only product I have tried so far but if the performance of the serum continues as it is, I will be looking into getting some more from the line soon, along with a couple of the other new ranges they've brought out skincare wise.
The serum is super lightweight serum that has been clinically proven to reduce the number and intensity of dark spots, but it also instantly leaves the skin looking brighter. I have to say I haven't been using this very long so long time effects, I don't know, but right now, my skin looks brighter after using this for only 5 days and I will continue to report any progress with dark spots and long term results.
I love the packaging and there is a few products in the range which is really great. The price bracket is on the higher side for the brand but for good quality skincare that performs well, I know my skin is worth those extra pennies. I also purchased the full size of the Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil and the Drops Of Youth Youth Concentrate because I've heard great things about them so I will be doing an updated post/review/results once I've used the for long enough to gain an accurate review.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation Fair 1I am a foundation junkie. Any new one I see that sounds like it's everything I want in my foundation, I buy it, and I've seen a lot of really good reviews on the Magic Foundation so thought I would give it a try. It's less than £30 so it's pretty decent in price for a high end brand. Any who, I really like this foundation. It's really great coverage, the shade is great although very yellow so I do add some of the Lightening Drops from The Body Shop as I do with all my foundations but this is quite thick and creamy yet blends out so effortlessly and looks flawless on  the skin. I am still experimenting in ways to apply, prime and set but so far so good. Plus, the packaging is just adorable. I will be doing a more in depth review soon so keep your eyes peeled for that.

The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi-Protection Essence SPF 50This is the product that got me onto their website in the first place. I have been on the lookout for a good SPF 50 and I spotted this one on the TBS Instagram. This is a lightweight, milk-to-water essence which has broad spectrum UV filters to protect the skin, whilst also using Red Algae and Vitamin C to brighten and the UVA and UVB protection this seemed like the perfect fit for my SPF needs. It goes great under makeup or just on it's own and I normally apply after my regular daily moisturiser and it just works great with the rest of my skincare and makeup. It's a great and affordable option at £16.00 for a decent and effective SPF 50. I will keep you updated on any long term results I see from using this product but so far so good.
