The Weekly Round Up #123

This week I've been trying out the new products from this months subscription boxes, and I've also found a super creepy movie that I think all horror movie buffs will be surprised with how creepy it was. Here's what I've been loving this week.

Starting off with the products from Birchbox VS Glossybox: April and these all get a big thumbs up from me.
MAKEUP: The Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara has a super fat brush, which gives good volume and really defines the lashes too. I find it can feel quite heavy on my lashes if layered up too much but I really like it's performance overall. I've been pairing it with the Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner which I have tried before and really liked as it's super black and pigmented, whilst being creamy, long lasting and is great for the waterline. The Studio 10 Brow Pencil has been part of my brow combo which I will move onto in a sec but this has really surprised me and I love that it's in conjunction with Look Good Feel Better which you all know are one of my favourite brush lines ever.
On to the skincare product from this months Glossybox and the The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil has been great to mix in with my regular night time moisturiser and it gives a luxurious, intensely hydrated feel to my skin and by morning, my skin is glowing and plump and soft and smooth and just incredible. For the full size, it's £28, but I think I may have to pick it up as I am loving it, but this little mini sample will last a while so I will get back to you on long term results.
The Parlor Leave in Conditioner was a product I was really excited to try and I have to say I really have enjoyed using it. It's not as detangling as my beloved Beauty Protector but it's a great product and perfect for fitting in my travel bag. Overall, I think it was a good month for the subscription boxes so I hope they keep up the good work.

On to my brow combo I mentioned, the Studio 10 Brow Pencil is the perfect taupe colour for right in the front of my brows to add a light feathery kind of look to them whilst still filling in any sparse areas. For the arch and tail of my brows, the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Almighty Crayon is great as it adds texture and colour and I like to blend it out with an angled brush (my current go to is the Real Techniques Angled Liner Brush) as this is small enough and the perfect density to blend and feather out the product, then I brush through with a spoolie to get rid of any excess. Finally I go in with the Soap & Glory Archery Volu-Boost Brow Gel which is great as it adds texture to my brows to give them a fuller appearance which my brows are definitely in need of. This little combo has been a life saver this week and I love the mix of the different products to give a natural yet good brow game.

The Zoeva Cool Spectrum Palette has been pretty much the only one I have been using for the last few weeks, and the shade CL110 (second row, in the middle) is still my favourite eyeshadow ever. I can't get enough of it and I've been wearing it every single day since I've had this palette. It's a beautiful shimmery taupe which looks great all over the lid or on the outer corner. I wonder if Zoeva sells this shade singularly?

FRAGRANCE: Finally for beauty is the Giorgio Armani Si Perfume  I posted my review this week which you can see here but this perfume has been the only one I have used this week, and last week. My boyfriend surprised me with it for our one year anniversary and I am completely obsessed with the scent. Check out my review for more details as it's a very complex yet enticing fragrance.

MOVIES/TV: Onto the TV and movie picks of the week, as I mentioned earlier, I have found the creepiest horror movie of the year, and it's called The Boy. It's about a woman who goes to look after this child in a huge English mansion in the middle of the English countryside, whilst his parents go away for the week, except when she gets there, she sees that the "child" is actually a doll, who the parents treat as if he were alive. Later does she realise after not following the rules, that he is no ordinary doll. But there's a twist at the end which neither myself or my boyfriend Ben saw coming, and we are horror movie extraordinaires, we have seen hundreds of them and we are pretty good with guessing what's going to happen, but this movie, well it actually surprised us and creeped us out which is very difficult to do. Highly recommend going to watch it, it's out in the cinemas now.
We also discovered a tv show called Reaper which is about a 20 something year old loser who finds out his parents sold his soul to the devil before he was even born, and now he has to go and work for the devil capturing and sending back souls that have escaped from hell. This is a great show, hilarious, kinda gruesome and is generally a great show to really get your teeth in to. Plus the characters are amazing and so funny,
Finally is an anime which I discovered called Ghost Hunt which is about a 15 year old high school freshman who goes to work with a ghost hunter and his associates who all become good friends and help each other out on jobs. It's a great series, 20 something episodes and it's something different to all those ghost related movies and shows.

For my YouTube fave this week, it has to be Ashley Elizabeth I love that she doesn't care whether she swears, talks about taboo topics like sex toys, periods or just random stuff. I think she has such a great personality and is definitely worth watching if you are looking for someone different to many other beauty channels.

I am all about supporting beauty bloggers and when I discover someone I try to include it in my favourites. There is also an Instagram page I wanted to mention too as I am just loving all the amazing photos and posts that she uploads. CharWBeauty is a blog I have mentioned before, and I love everything she uploads, but her Instagram really caught my eye this week and I think you guys would really love it too. I actually didn't realise but she also has a YouTube channel and she only has a handful of videos but they are great, especially if you're a cruelty free beauty lover. Definitely should go check out her channel and subscribe.

That's it for this weeks faves, I hope you all had a great week and that you enjoyed your weekend, whatever you were doing. To check out this weeks posts from me, then see below.
