Revlon ColorStay Foundation Finally Has a Pump

The cult classic Revlon Colorstay Foundation finally has a pump. How many others wasted so much of this product by tipping too much out on your hand? But at last, Revlon listened to their customers and has relaunched their infamous Colorstay Foundation and also added a little something extra to the formula of this worldwide favourite?

That's right, I am dedicating a post to a pump on a foundation bottle. But what is this little extra they included in the formula? They added SPF 20. So anyone who used to wear this for events, weddings, shoots or any occasion where flash photography is used, you may be a tad disappointed as it's a decent factor for a drugstore foundation considering normally they have SPF15 or less in, it's SPF 20 so you will need to try this out with flash before you wear it to an event. As far as I am aware, that is the only change made to the formula.

But what is still to love about this foundation?

  1. It's 24 hour wear, and seriously, it actually is. You have to really make sure all of this is removed at the end of the day. It's that long wearing, and it's like nothing I've ever tried before.
  2. There are still two formulas with different finishes. The Normal/Dry which is what I have, has a demi-matte finish, and the Combination/Oily is a matte finish. I think this is a great feature for a great foundation and it means it means everyone, no matter what their ski type can use it.
  3. It's full coverage. Full full coverage, but doesn't feel like a mask at all, it's actually very lightweight in my experience and I love that about it. If you aren't one for a full coverage then you can sheer it out with an illuminating primer/liquid highlighter, or with your everyday moisturiser, or simply use a Beauty Blender or Stippling Brush to apply. You get an even perfected base but still feel like your skin is peeking through a little which is what I like to do with it.
  4. There's 12 shades which is the highest from a drugstore brand and they have a great selection and one that is even fair enough for my pale ass complexion.
  5. It's drugstore although it is still £12.99 which is the higher end of the price bracket, it's still affordable and easy to get your hands on wherever you are in the world.

The ColorStay range has increased massively, within the complexion products like the Concealer which I am in love with and is my new fave and the new 2-in-1 Compact which is coming out very soon. They have also extended it to their Eyeliners, they have Eyeshadow Quads and they also have Lip products in the range too. But they have Nail Polish which is what I am most eager to try out so I will definitely be getting my mitts on some of those. I will let you know what I think to some of their other products. If it's good enough for Olivia Wilde, then it's good enough for me.

I know it was a short and random post but I was very excited about the new packaging that I just had to share my excitement with you. Let me know what you think to the new packaging and the added SPF.

Note:  Old packaging is still currently being sold, but will be restocked with the new pump packaging once all sold and the photos on Boots and other sites still shows old packaging but this will be amended once old stock is gone as far as I am aware. But I have seen the new packaging in quite a few stores so it is available in select locations.
