March Faves

It's March favourites time already and I can't believe how fast it's gone. But I am very happy that Spring is here, and that the weather will start to warm up now (I hope). Let's get into this months products that I have been loving.

When it comes to makeup, I always make sure to prep the skin first, and prep it well. This is my secret to getting a flawless complexion. The Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealers have been amazing this month and have really introduced me to colour correcting and perfecting the skin tone before applying the rest of my foundation. I have done a review on these which I hope you will check out here.

I have found a base concoction that I have truly loved this month. I mix together the Becca Backlight Priming Filter with the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. It provides a beautiful, luminous, flawless base that lasts all day and continues to look incredible. The Estee Lauder BB Brush on Glow Highlighter has been a welcomed addition to my makeup routine this month. It highlights, conceals, corrects and most importantly looks amazing. It's pretty expensive, but it's worth it in my opinion and the value for money is pretty good as you don't need a lot for it to make a difference. Finally for covering any stubborn blemishes that the foundation didn't quite cover, the Revlon ColorStay Concealer sure packs a punch in the coverage department and it's from the drugstore and if you like the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer then you will love this too as it covers a multitude of sins.

To add a glow to my complexion I have been loving the GOSH Lumi Drops in Vanilla as it's the perfect neutral toned liquid highlight and it is so lightweight on the skin that it just gives that deeply desired lit-from-within look that everyone craves.

HIGHLIGHTTo add a glow to the skin I have been trying out the GOSH Lumi Drops in Vanilla which were a new purchase at the beginning of the month. I noticed that these gave a really pretty glow to the cheeks without being too glittery which is great considering it's a drugstore highlight. To go over that the Laura Mercier Highlight 01 just to intensify and lock that in so it lasts all day and shows it's beautiful glowy-ness.

CHEEKS/CONTOURFor contour, the Maybelline Master Sculpt in Medium/Dark is the only contour product I have used this month. It's an incredible cool toned powder that's not too cool toned that it looks muddy or ashy, but not too warm that it looks orange. For fair skin it's a great contour. I have been applying this with the Luxie Angled Contour Brush which has been a welcomed addition to my brush collection - this was received in this months Glossybox. I am still loving the The Balm Frat Boy Blush and I have been layering that with the Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush in Lovely Pink as it's just perfect for the Spring, for that light, fresh, healthy flush.

EYESHADOW: The Maxfactor Masterpiece Eyeshadow Palettes were a huge surprise for me when I picked them up. For a drugstore nude palette, they're incredible and one of the best I've tried. The shadows are creamy and pigmented, blend easily and although they don't last all day without creasing, they give it a pretty darn good try. I have the shades Cappuccino Nudes and Golden Nudes and I love both for their shade range. I've even been trying out olive eyeshadow looks thanks to the golden palette.

MASCARA: I repurchased one of my favourite mascaras at the beginning of the month, the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara and I didn't realise how much I missed this until I tried it again. I wasn't too sure on it when I first used it, but once it gets a bit drier it is a really great mascara for making my lashes look long and thick and fluttery. I like to use the Benefit They're Real Tinted Mascara Primer underneath although it's not a necessity,I just use it because I have it.

BROWS: I have discovered something completely brow changing this month. The Freedom Brow Powder Duo in Medium Brown has upped my brow game. I use the Real Techniques Angled Liner Brush to apply it and I make sure to use a spoolie to brush them through so they look nice and natural

LIP COLOURS: The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colours have been an obsession of mine this month. I wanted to get my hands on more but wasn't able to until the end of the month and I now have 5 shades total. But the ones I wore a lot in March were Addiction and Passion which were very berry toned that I love and I have been wearing these more than any other lip product. But, I have been trying out the Clinique Plum Pop Lipstick which is a very creamy formula, not matte but not shiny either, the pigment of this lipstick is incredible and it's very comfortable on the lips. Ihave been wearing it quite subtly by applying a bit onto my lips and then blending it out with my fingertip and it's been working great, lasts ages and feels nice to wear. Love this and will definitely be getting more along with their new lip gloss type products.

If you caught my March Beauty Haul you would have seen that I picked up a new makeup bag which not only is practical for travelling, but I also use it at home and I really love how easy it is to use but also how much it fits in there. I have only makeup in here when I travel, the normal person would be able to fit all of their toiletries but this is just my makeup bag but I really have been loving it this month and use it on a daily basis.

SKINCAREI received the Mario Badescu Rose Water & Herbs Facial Mist as a gift with purchase, I don't remember which purchase though but I have been using it as a toner/refresher and I have really been loving it. It smells amazing, very calming and relaxing and it just helps to freshen up the skin whether it's before you apply your skincare or makeup, or over makeup later on in the day.
The Polaar Moisturising Gel came in this months Birchbox which you can see here, and I have been using it ever since as my morning moisturiser before I apply my makeup. It's super hydrating yet light on the skin so there's no greasy-ness and no risk of looking oily through the day and it's the perfect amount of moisturiser for my skin. I don't know if I will purchase the big size as it's pretty expensive so I'll see how I get on with the rest of this travel size but it's a great product.

A few other skincare products here and these ones in particular have done wonders for my breakout prone skin. I get breakouts like any other person, but this month I had a huge under the skin blemish which was painful and difficult to cover, and with the help of the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Scrub, Instant Mask & Overnight Treatment and the Sanctuary 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask it's been banished (for good hopefully). I know I talk about these products a lot but it's because they really are amazing and I highly recommend trying them out if you have problems with breakouts or uneven skin tone or texture. They're affordable too so they're not going to break the bank.

HAIR: For my hair, I have been trying out the new L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Hair range, and I have been particularly interested in the Pre-Shampoo Masque Treatment which is basically like a clay mask but for your hair, you apply onto the roots and scalp and leave for 5 minutes before you jump in the shower and rinse it off, whilst rinsing you massage this into the scalp and it does an excellent job of getting rid of any dry flakey patches on your scalp whilst also removing any product build up. Go in with shampoo and conditioner as normal and job done. I like how clean this makes my hair feel and it's done a great job at getting rid of any of my dry bits on my scalp. I do use quite a lot though, not sure if I am supposed to but it's nearly half gone so maybe I shouldn't be so liberal with it. Have you tried this range?

That's it for this months favourites. I hope you enjoyed the posts from the month, and tomorrow I will be uploading my monthly round up which is something I've been doing for a while but it was called something different and if you want to see last months round up then click here
