The Weekly Round Up #119

Okay, so I want to apologise for not uploading anything this week, either on my blog or Instagram or Twitter. It wasn't planned but there's a few reasons why I had a little break, mainly it's been down to technical difficulties, but there's been some things going on with my family, and also I have been suffering a tad batch of writers block, so this week has really been a good week to recharge and get my butt in to gear and I've got lot's of awesome content coming up over the coming weeks.

Anyway, on to this weeks faves. No matter how much of a funk I am in, I just cannot miss a week of faves, so I hope you enjoy this round up of the last 7 days.

There's been a mixture of products that I have been concocting together to make my perfect base, so I apply half a pump of the Becca Backlight Priming Filter, a blob of the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and half a pump of the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. This mix of products has given me the perfect coverage, finish, longevity, glowy-ness and just the perfect base ever. I love when products mix so well together that it's almost like they were made for each other. It's amazing and this little concoction has been a god send this month. But the Freedom Strobe Cream is a great illuminating base that hydrates and adds a glow. It's great and for under a fiver, it's well worth a try.

I've also really got in to a routine this week with my cheek products this week. For contour I have been using the Maybelline Master Sculpt Contour Kit in Medium/Dark along with the amazing Luxie Large Angled Brush (504) as this really gets right under those cheekbones and it's just the perfect size and super soft - I want to pick up some more of these brushes. Then I have been using a mix of the The Balm Frat Boy Blush which is a matte rosy pink shade that I have been loving, but I then apply the Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush in Lovely Pink over the top with the B. Angled Contour Brush as this picks up the perfect amount of product and then blends it out perfectly. As for highlight, I dug out the Seventeen Shimmer Brick in Pink Bronze which I've been loving again and the Spectrum Tapered Brush is still my favourite brush to apply highlighter with.

I have discovered a real love for brow powders, but not just any brow powder, the Freedom Brow Powder Duo in Medium Brown, as this is the perfect shade for my brows, I use the Real Techniques Angled Brush to apply, a spoolie just to brush through and then the Model Co More Brows Brow Gel to set it all in place and I really like how natural and soft it is whilst still looking defined.

For skincare, I have been dealing with a few annoying little breakouts and there's a few products which I always go to to get them gone. I first apply the Sanctuary Spa Detox Cleansing Mask and leave on for about 10 minutes (normally when I'm in the shower), then I apply the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Instant Fix Mask onto the blemishes or problem areas for 5-10 minutes, and after I have done the rest of my skincare routine, I apply a pump of the Avene TriAcneal Expert all over my skin, but concentrating on the problem areas, and finally I then apply the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Overnight Treatment Gel directly on to any spots before I go to sleep.
Another concoction, yes, but these products are incredible and I have been using them every night and they have been doing a great job at battling my breakouts, and I have also had a really painful under the skin breakout which thanks to these products, has been dramatically reduced and is well on it's way to being gone for good which I am thrilled about of course.

The E45 Moisturising Lotion has been a life saver for my skin. I have dry sensitive skin, and whenever I shave or exfoliate my legs in particular, I have to apply this lotion as soon as I get out of the shower, as it just soothes and calms irritated skin and makes my skin super smooth and soft. It's not a fancy scented moisturiser, nor is it particular nourishing, but it's the perfect product for my skin when it's irritated and I think this is a great lotion to apply after a shower. They do also have a thicker cream version which is very nice and I use that sometimes, but I prefer the lotion as it sinks into the skin quicker and generally just feels lighter and nicer on my skin.

I also caught up with Shadow Hunters which is basically taken the Mortal Instruments City Of Bones movie and making it into a TV show, however there are different things that happen in the TV series than the movie so I think it's definitely worth watching as I have seen both and really like how the series has been done.

So I hope you all had a great week, I apologise again for the lack of posts and the issues with actually getting on to my blog but they are all fixed now. Have a great weekend and be sure to come back on Monday for some new It's a Beauty Thing content.

What's your favourite thing from the week?
