You Chose It, So Here It Is... How To: Intensify Your Highlight In 3 Steps

08:00

You guys chose unanimously on my Instagram what you wanted to see this week and here is my highlighter trick that I have been doing tonnes recently and have really seen a difference in the longevity and the intensity of my highlight.

We all know that highlighting is still a massive trend in the makeup world and I don't think that 2016 is going to be any different. So I have been trying out a trick to get the glow, if you want your highlight to look like it's your skin that's glowing and not just your highlight, then this is the trick for you.

Tap your liquid highlight on to your cheekbones with your finger and blend in with the Beauty Blender - My current fave highlighters are the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone or the Benefit Watts Up. This is super intense on it's own but when you bounce the Beauty Blender over the top it sheers it out ever so slightly which makes it great for a daily makeup look.

Then before that first layer of highlighter fully dries, apply your powder highlighter over the top. This will intensify the highlight and give you a more glowy look. I like either the Laura Mercier Baked Matte Radiance Powder in 01 Highlight or the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfect Pressed in Moonstone as they're both the perfect tone for my fair complexion and they really do look beautiful on the skin.

To blend that and melt it in so it doesn't look like the powder highlight is just sitting on top of your skin, spray your Beauty Blender with setting spray, and bounce this over the top of your highlight. This will intensify it as well as blend it in so it looks more natural and like you're glowing from within. I have been loving the L'Oréal Infalliable Setting Spray as this is super affordable, it really sets your makeup and most importantly it's a simple setting spray therefore it's perfect for this trick.

It's as simple as that. I have been loving this technique to amp up my highlight but still have it look natural and skin like. Let me know if you try this and how you get on with it.
Head over to my Instagram for more photos, and to have the chance to tell me what you want to see. I would really appreciate if you share, like, comment and subscribe so you don't miss out on any of my posts.

Will you be trying this trick out? Let me know what you think.
