The Weekly Round Up #113

I've got a bit of a long round up for you today so I hope you stick around to see all the things I have loved this week.

Up first is the best thing from the week. My amazing boyfriend Ben surprised me with a new laptop this week. My old one had a huge crack in the screen and was getting pretty old anyway and so Ben got me one so I can continue my blogging and start my own business. He is just so incredible. I am incredibly lucky and I am so grateful and appreciate it so much.

I picked up some new home décor pieces this week and I am just loving how they look. First is the copper wire basket on the left. I got this from a shop called Home Bargains for £2.99 and it has my hair care and styling products in. The light up star is from the same shop and I bought that for decorating Ben's room at Christmas and it has now found a new home in my room.
The mirrored tray on the right is from TK Maxx and I got it for only £9.99. It is so beautiful and you will be seeing this in a lot more photos I'm sure. The grey blanket you see in the photos is also new. I picked this up from Wilko's for £2.50 and it's so soft and fluffy and I have a real problem with fluffy blankets. I have so many on my bed and my dog loves diving into them and getting all snuggly.

This week I've been having an issue with itchy dry skin so I picked up some creams from E45  as I always find they do the job and calm and soothe my skin. I love the Moisturising Lotion £4.89 and the regular Cream. They're moisturising, simple and they have an Itch Relief Cream which is great for irritated, dry, itchy skin.

I have been an avid user of the Avene TriAcneal which is my spot zapper of choice and it does such a great job. However I found out this month that they have changed the packaging and the name is also different too, it's now TriAcneal Expert. It says that it is a moisturiser and that's not what the other one was intended for. But it's been great for my skin, I apply either as a spot treatment or as a moisturiser. I just love the new packaging now although I don't think I will be able to get everything out like the squeezy tube.

I have been obsessed with the Becca Backlight Priming Filter this week. It's a luminous primer that hydrates, and gives the skin a soft-focus blurring effect that it just stunning. I did a review on this yesterday so check it out here. I am massively in love with Becca products right now, and I am adding more things to my wish list everyday.

You're probably sick of seeing Zoeva Palettes on my blog but I have been loving experimenting with the different shades in the most recent additions to my palette collection, the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Palette and the En Taupe Palette. I have a review/swatches on the Nude Spectrum Palette coming up tomorrow and a Valentines makeup look with the En Taupe Palette later in the week so keep your eyes peeled for them.

I have been trying out the Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl Liners, and I have to say I am in love. They're waterproof, super pigmented, they last all day and I think these are incredible. They stay oon the waterline for hours and

If you've been around these parts for a while, you would have seen my love of the Barry M Nail Polishes. They have released some new shades to the Gelly Hi-Shine range and I picked up a light pink/nude shade (the name rubbed off so I don't know what it's called) but I love the formula, they last for ages on the nails and they stay super shiny.

I recently got a kit which had the Beauty Blender Original Sponge, Pro Sponge, Micro Sponge and Rea.Activate Spray which is basically something you spray on to your Beauty Blender to dampen it again. I have to say this is a complete fail. It doesn't do anything, spraying setting spray on a Beauty Blender is a lot more sensible than this because it doesn't re-activate anything, it simply prolongs the inevitable of having to go to a sink to get the sponge damp. But I do love the black Pro Sponge though. It doesn't seem to hold as much water which is great for oily skin as you don't get too much hydration. But it cleans well and hopefully it won't get as stained as the original pink one.

I've been trying out some new hair products which I picked up in Boots at the beginning of the week. I love the Tresemme Runway Collection of hairsprays so when I saw they had other styling products I picked up a few bits to try. The Max The Volume Root Lift & Texture Foam from Tresemme is a great volume boosting mousse which I put on when my hair is damp and I leave my hair to air dry to about 90% and then I finish off with the hair dryer at the roots so I can get some more volume. I do find it leaves a bit of a residue but it's still a great product, just have to make sure I don't put too much on.
I've also been really liking the new John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Anti-Frizz Primer, as I am always looking for products that will tame frizz and I really do think this works. I don't have so many flyaways and when it's just dried, it's not as frizzy and noticeable so I am all for it. I don't know how long it's been out but they also have a shampoo and conditioner in the line so I may give those a try next and see what they do.
In conjunction with the Tresemme foam product, I have been trying out the Trevor Sorbie Volume Thickening Spray which I haven't ever seen before but I really like it. It really does give volume, although I have to be careful that I don't spray too much otherwise this will also leave a residue but I tried this just on it's own and it really did a great job at making my hair look and feel thicker and more voluminous. Love it.
I have some other hair products which I'm trying so I may do a round up of them with my thoughts and mini reviews.

I had to pick up a new dressing gown this week as I am going into hospital next week and I need something to keep me warm and I love this dressing gown. It's so warm and cosy and my god it's super soft and fluffy. My dog Darcy curled up and hid in it the other day when it was on my bed and she didn't budge for hours. So if it's Darcy approved then it's Sophie approved.

When I find a top I like, I tend to go and buy other shades and that is what I did with these. I picked these up from New Look and they're just long sleeved lightweight tops which have a really nice cut at the bottom which is just very flattering. The sleeves are slightly longer than normal so they're cosy and can be pulled over your hands and I love tops like that. I am all about the warmth and comfort.

In last weeks round up, I asked you which post you wanted to see out of 5 and my Instagram went crazy. With the most likes on a photo ever, the How to Intensify Your Highlight in 3 Steps won by a mile and so you can see that here. Speaking of Instagram, I had over 100 new followers in just over a week so I am incredibly happy and I wanted to thank you all. If you don't follow me on Instagram then links are on the side over on the right.

As for movies and TV, I have really enjoyed watching the new Shadow Hunters - Mortal Instruments TV Show that's on Netflix. There's about 4 episodes so far and I am really loving it. I think I prefer the movie more (which I also watched this week) but the TV show has different characters and it's a little different. If you haven't seen it already, or the movie, then you should check them out.
Ben and I also watched a movie called American Ultra. It has Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg and it was released in September 2015. In short, it's a movie about a stoner and his girlfriend who are trying to live there everyday life and something/someone comes in and tips everything upside down. You should definitely watch it. It's hilarious and a great light movie, no intense thinking needed.

That's it for this weeks faves. I hope you enjoyed reading and I would love to know what your favourites are this week?
