The Monthly Round Up: February 2016

08:00

I thought I would do something slightly different with the What Else Happened... post and do more of a monthly round up where I choose 5 things that really stood out in the month and put them all in one place. The other style was getting quite overwhelming to do and so with this I can keep it to the absolute faves of the month. Let me know what you think and which style you prefer.

1. MOVIES & ANIME: This month Deadpool the movie finally came out and Ben and I went to see it the day before Valentines Day. Ben (my boyfriend) had been waiting for it's release forever, as he is a massive geek and loves the comic. So I agreed to go and see it and I actually ended up loving it. Best movie of the year (well two months) I think it's great and definitely more great movies I want to see that will be released over the next few months. I also got in to watching Anime TV shows, and I first started with Vampire Knight which is an incredible show about vampires and humans who go to the same school, humans to the day classes, and vampires to the knight. Although the humans don't know they're vampires, there's a select few who are aware and who protect the grounds at all costs. A great show and you will see a drawing of one of the characters below. I also have been obsessed with Fairy Tail. Ben had been watching this and was hooked so I decided to give it a go and I love it too. It's about a group of wizards called the Fairy Tail guild and they have different powers and abilities which they use for missions. My favourite characters are Erza, Happy and Natsu, you will also see drawings of some of these characters below.

2. DRAWING: After watching the above movie and shows, I decided to take a crack and drawing some of the characters and above are my end results. First is Deadpool, then it's Erza from Fairy Tail, then there's Yuki from Vampire Knight, and finally at the bottom, Happy from Fairy Tail. I am really pleased with how these came out and I am really enjoying this style of drawing so I will definitely be drawing some more characters throughout March too.

3. CRUELTY FREE BEAUTY POSTS: It was something I worked on for a long time and finally I managed to upload my Cruelty Free and Non Cruelty Free Posts. I also curated a list of brands which fit with each of these titles which seem to have gone down really well considering it's not something I have ever done before. There was a really positive outcome from these posts and I am so happy and proud that you guys saw these and appreciated the hard work gone into these.

4. FITNESS UPDATE: So the beginning of the month started well in terms of my fitness, yoga, exercises etc. but on the 9th February I had to go into Addenbrookes Hospital and go under general anesthetic for an injection into my hip, and let me tell you this was a horrible experience. I hate not being in control and be completely KO'd and have people sticking needles into places - I still haven't got rid of the massive arrow they drew in permanent marker off my leg so they made sure to inject the right hip - and ever since my hip has felt very odd and I haven't felt like it was stable or strong enough to withstand exercise. So I've withheld from exercising but in March, I will definitely getting back into my routine so I haven't given up, I just haven't been able to work out this month.

5. INSTAGRAM: My Instagram this month has gained so many new followers and tonnes more likes than ever before and I wanted to say a massive thank you. I have over 100 new followers and got the most likes on some of my photos that I've ever had (bottom row, centre), and it may not seem a lot to those of you who have hundreds or thousands of followers but anyone who supports me and follows me are important and I appreciate every single one of you.

That's it, February is over and Spring is on it's way. I can't wait to see some more Spring launches and lot's of spring makeup looks. So watch this space.
