January Favourites

This month has gone pretty fast and it's been an okay start to the new year. I have been loving quite a few new products and some old goodies too so I hope you enjoy the first monthly favourites of 2016.
First let's start with makeup...

The stand out products of the month has to be the Zoeva Cocoa Blend, Naturally Yours & Rose Golden Eyeshadow Palettes. These palettes continue to wow me in the quality, longevity and the pigmentation. I love the looks I've been creating with these and I can't wait to try other stuff from Zoeva. They work great over the top of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and then set with an ivory bone shade. Makes everything easier to blend and the colours pop against a white/neutral base.

Onto the primer I have been obsessed with this month which is the Too Faced Hangover X Primer. I've been using this as a moisturiser/primer, and although I am using a few other products to really prep my skin for makeup, I love how this makes my skin feel. Smooth, hydrated, healthy, it generally just looks radiant and healthy. Plus makeup goes on so smooth and flawless over the top and it continues to hydrate through the day, so it's a great multi purpose product.

I've been loving the Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush in Nude Mauve. It's great with my bronzer and contour and I love that it stays all day, without migrating down my cheeks and the subtle pinky mauve colour gives my face a more healthy and glowy complexion. This shade is very similar to Tarte Amazonian Clay Exposed Blush, but with a small amount of summery glow to it, and the formula and finish is almost identical to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes.

My lip combo this month has been exclusively the Maybelline Color Drama in Minimalist with Barry M Lip Boss Gloss in 04 over the top. It's a great everyday nude/MLBB lip colour and I don't normally wear gloss but I have rediscovered this one from Barry M and I generally just love it.

As for skincare, I have been really testing out the Sanctuary Spa skincare line over the last couple of months and this month is no different. A few of my absolute faves, especially for this cold winter weather is the 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask which is great for drawing out all the crap from your skin as well as treating blemishes and spots overnight. For exfoliating, I've discovered the 1 Minute Thermal Microdermabrasion which warms up when applied onto the skin, leave on for 1-2 minutes and then I take it off with a cloth. The scrubby bits are so fine, not abrasive but really do the job and makes my skin feel so soft and smooth, no flakey gross dry patches for makeup to cling to, and it feels refreshing too. Really nice product and I've never tried a microdermabrasion treatment type product before so this was a really good dip into it. I've also been loving the Sanctuary Ultimate Cleansing Oil to remove my makeup and I just love how hydrating it is to my skin especially in this miserable cold winter weather. If you missed my review of the Sanctuary Spa Skincare line then you can check that out here.

Also as a brightening treatment which my skin has most definitely needed, I have been loving the Masque Bar Brigthening Sheet Mask. This is one of those that makes you look like a serial killer for 30 minutes but it's most definitely worth it. It's brightening, hydrating, it really makes my skin glow and makes it so soft and smooth. I've picked some more up and I've been trying them out so a review is coming very soon.

You may have seen in my What I Got For Christmas that I got some Pandora jewellery from my boyfriend and his Mum, and I have been absolutely obsessed and in love with it this month. It's part of the Rose Gold Collection that they released last year and I am just so utterly grateful and I thank them every time I see them so I just wanted to add that as my final favourite for this month.

That's it for this month favourites. I'm going to be honest, I actually hated this month. January's are a long old depressing month and I am so glad it's over. Let's hope February is better.
