Cruelty Free Makeup & Skincare

08:00

So whether your new years resolution is to exclusively use cruelty free beauty products, or you want to declutter your makeup stash and get rid of brands that test on animals, here's some brands that are 100% cruelty free which you can keep in your makeup collection or pick up some of their products to start your free from animal testing beauty collection.

If you want to see a full list of brands that are cruelty free, you can find that here, and for a list of brands that do test on animals then you can see that here. But please bear with me as I am still working on getting links and any research included too but it should be completed pretty soon, so apologies.

Just something to bear in mind...
Depending on what your beliefs are regarding cruelty free, there are groups of brands who are owned by a parent company, for example MAC, Smashbox, Clinique, Origins and Bobbi Brown are owned by Estee Lauder. Or L'Oreal is the parent company to Garnier, Giorgio Armani, Kiehls, Lancome, The Body Shop and Urban Decay. I have created a list of the brands that are cruelty free and the brands that aren't cruelty free. But just because a parent company like L'Oreal tests on animals, doesn't mean the brands owned by them do too. For example The Body Shop are well known for being against animal testing, using the best raw ingredients etc. But we will talk more about that another day. So you need to make the decision to support the individual brand or whether you will steer clear of the brand based on if their parent company tests on animals.

Luxury Makeup:
These are some of my favourite beauty products ever and they're very popular brands so it's easy to make a transition to cruelty free if you like these brands already.

Some other examples of higher end makeup brands that don't test on animals:

Drugstore Makeup:
As for drugstore makeup, this is a bit of a tricky one as most of the big brands test their products on animals so I've found some others for you which don't.
Barry M
Collection
GOSH
Makeup Revolution
MUA (Makeup Academy)
Soap & Glory
The Body Shop

Some other drugstore brands are:
Chi Chi
City Color Cosmetics
ColorPop
ELF
H&M Beauty
LA Girl
Makeup Geek
Milani
NYX
Ofra
Seventeen
Sleek
Wet n Wild

So there is still a good selection of brands to choose from if you're on a budget.

Luxury Skincare:
Now onto the skincare that is cruelty free and starting off with the higher budget:

Some other luxury skincare products that you might enjoy are from the likes of:
Drugstore Skincare:
Skincare is very important, however it's not always necessary to purchase expensive skincare, you can find good brands and good products at the drugstore.

B. Skincare (Superdrug)

But there's also brands like:
Burt's Bees
LUSH
Pacifica
Simple
Yes To Carrots

Although there's not too many that I have tried, there are definitely some more affordable and natural brands that I am still yet to try so I will keep you updated on anything else that I find.

Alright so that's it. I have scoured the internet for hours to generate some lists for your own use if you are going down the cruelty free route and need some reassurance that there are brands out there that will match your needs to no animal testing.
I have created a list of the more well known brands and brands I have heard of - which you can see here (although I will continue to update this the more brands I discover and try out). But if you are looking for any other cruelty free brands then there are an abundance of lists, blogs, websites that will meet your needs so I will list a few of my faves below.
