The Weekly Round Up #112

So this week I have picked up some new products that I have been trying out and loving. I have also been discovering some new tricks for makeup application which I will go into more detail in another post but for today, here's the products I've been loving over the last week.

Up first is the newly launched Becca Backlight Priming Filter which is a very illuminating primer that smooths out and blurs your skin for a lit-from-within glow. I love how my skin looks with this on, even with a full coverage foundation over the top it looks great and I also like to wear this when I'm not wearing any makeup as it really helps to even everything out and make my skin look so much healthier and luminous.

Speaking of luminous I have been trying out a tip I saw from a YouTuber and I will go into it in more detail in another post but here's the products I've been using. For the liquid illuminator I have been loving the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone, I tap this lightly onto the cheekbones with the Beauty Blender. Then I go straight in with the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in 01 Highlight over the top. Then to get the most from that highlight and to make it look natural and not just powder highlight on the top of your skin, I spray the Beauty Blender with a setting spray, like my favourite L'Oreal Infalliable Setting Spray and then bounce that over the highlight. I will be doing a tutorial post on this so keep your eyes peeled for that but I have been really liking how this technique has made my highlighter look.

Two of the new drugstore products I've picked up have really stood out. First is the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer and this is an illuminating and hydrating concealer so it makes it great for under the eyes, I just have to make sure I really set it well so it doesn't budge. I like that the colour isn't too dark (especially for Bourjois as they have quite dark shades in their base products) and it's a cute and dinky little thing which means it's great for travel and to throw in your bag.
I have also been really liking the Maybelline Face Studio Blush in Pink Amber. This is a matte blush that is actually really decently pigmented and sticks around on the cheeks for hours. I don't normally like blushes from Maybelline but this one is really nice and the packaging is pretty cool too.

For contour this week I have gone back to the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Kits. I start with the Cream Palette as a base and then go in with the Powder Contour Kit to set it and intensify it slightly. I love the formula of both of these kits, and as you can tell I have really battered that cream contour shade. That is the only one I use in both palettes as the shade is just perfect for my skin tone> I don't know if they have these shades as a single. If not I hope they come out with it because I don't use the rest of the palettes really.

You probably all know how obsessed I am over the Zoeva Eyeshadow Palettes that I've been using a lot recently. But this week I picked up two others, the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Palette is by far my favourite of the two (you will see the other palette in a look soon), and although there are other palettes in this range, I really do love this one and I am definitely keen to check out the other eyeshadows palettes as well as the blush palettes. Have you tried any of the others?

The eyeliner I've been using this week, which is new to my collection, is the Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl Eyeliner. I've heard a lot about it and I have to say I am really impressed. It lasts ages on the waterline, doesn't smudge too much and is so pigmented and black that it's a pain to get off. But I love the longevity and the creaminess and I definitely recommend picking this up if you're looking for a good kohl waterproof liner for your waterline.
As for mascara I have really been loving how the combination of the Benefit They're Real Tinted Mascara Primer and the Clinique High Impact Mascara has made my lashes look. They're long-lasting, hold a curl and make my lashes look thicker and longer. I love it.

My Beauty Blender was looking a bit rank, and so I thought I would pick up another, and I saw this little kit on Cult Beauty and thought I would give it a try. It has the original Beauty Blender as well as the Pro Black Sponge, a Micro Blender and it also has something which I haven't seen before, the Beauty Blender Rehydrator. Sounds awesome right? I'll keep you updated on my thoughts on that one but I have been loving the Black Pro Beauty Blender this week although have they made them smaller?

Finally for my favourites this week is two new masks that I have been trying out from Masque Bar. The one on the left is the Pore Refining Creme Mask and on the right is the Dark Circle Reducer Eye Patches. Although they're not as mind-blowing as I was hoping they were going to be, they're still really great products and I love how they make my skin look and feel. If you are looking for good quality masks then Masque Bar is a great place to start.

NEW YOUTUBER: I came across Elanna Percherle's channel after I saw she had done a swap with one of my fave YouTubers to watch Allana Davis. So I checked out Elanna's channel and I just think her videos are amazing. She's so beautiful, her makeup looks incredible and I just feel very calm and happy when I watch her so I highly recommend going and checking her out.

MOVIES/TV: So this week Ben and I started watching the new Mortal Instruments TV Show which has just aired on Netflix. If you're familiar with the movie (which I also watched this week and loved) then you will know the story line but I am really looking forward to watching more of the episodes as I really like the characters in the show more than the movie I think.
I also watched a few more episodes from season two of Scorpion which is my favourite TV show ever. I love how a geniuses mind works and the episodes I watched - from 8-14 I think were very emotional and I even cried in a few of them but I think I will start watching the show from the start because I love it that much. If you have any recommendations of shows similar to anything I mention then I would love to check them out.
SNEAK PEEKSomething new that I want to try and incorporate in my weekly round up's is a sneak peek at the upcoming posts on IABT. But I would also like your opinion so what posts do you want to see this week?
