Blogtober Day #14 Makeup Revolution Haul/First Impressions

Happy Wednesday guys, it's Blogtober day 14 and I wanted to share with you my thoughts and first impressions on some more Makeup Revolution products that I've been trying out. So you may have seen my Intro to: Makeup Revolution a little while ago and since then I've purchased a few other products that I wanted to share with you as I think this brand has some incredible products which are so affordable it's rid-onculous

I love the rose gold packaging and I am sure many others love it too. The packaging of the palettes come are black, plastic, sleek, easy to travel with and fits so much product in that I don't think you could ever use an entire palette up.

First is the Ultra Matte Contour Kit and this was in my drugstore contour kit post which you can see here. But this has the full shebang from yellow toned setting powders, to shimmery highlights, contour powders and bronzers. They look quite orange in the photos but the contour shades are a great match with my skin tone and don't look grey or muddy or anything. The highlighters are pretty shimmery but I love how they're marbleized and baked, they give a stunning glow. This particular palette is the only one of this style but there are other palettes which have a larger shade variety to choose from to match your skin tone.

Here is the Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar and this is a shimmery palette, which has blushes, highlighters and some bronzey shades too to give you a beautiful glow which is great for this time of year to fight those summer blues. All the powder products are super pigmented and last really well on the skin, although I do find some can go on quite patchy so you have to really blend them in well, but this makes them look much more natural which is the look I go for. But there's different shades of the blushes, highlighters etc. so whether you're a fellow pale gal or if you have a more tanned complexion, there is still something for you in this palette and others that MR have too.

This is the Highlighting Palette which has 3 of their best vivid baked highlighters, Peach Lights, Pink Lights and Golden Lights, These are great for different skin tones and can be purchased separately too. I expected them to be super glittery and although they're very intense highlighters (work great applied wet as eyeshadow) they don't have any massive chunks of sparkle in them. Which is my pet-peeve of mine with drugstore highlighters.

I am a massive fan of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palettes but they're so expensive that I am so glad the Radiance Palette has now become available. They're a fraction of the price and the shades are pretty much identical and the powders themselves are actually larger. I was quite hesitant to use this as I was worried there would be chunks of glitter and it would make me look like I was in a Twilight movie. But I am actually really impressed with how they make my skin look.

There's not many cream blush palettes available so the All About Cream Palette is very unique. Cream blushes can be quite hard to work with if you're not used to them but armed with a small stippling brush, these are super easy to blend out onto the cheeks and although they're incredibly pigmented, and these palettes come it at only £6.00 which is a complete bargain considering there's 8 shades and they're so pigmented and creamy.

Next isn't something that is available in a palette but it's still a pretty decent formula. This is the Vivid Blush Lacquer which is a highly pigmented cream blush, comes in a pump format but it's very easy to apply - either with a stippling brush, a sponge or your fingers. It's £1.99 full price and it's an intense pop of colour, but still gives a natural and soft matte finish to the cheeks. This is the shade O'Boy which is a pretty medium toned pink but there are a few other shades. These can be applied as a light wash of colour or built up for an intense pop, but a little dot goes a long way so be extra careful. ELF do something similar to this and so do a few other companies but for the price, I would definitely recommend giving this a try first.

I was super excited to try this as I have seen a few high end brands bring out things like this and I really wanted to try one. I have a NYX one similar but thought I would try this as it's easier to get hold of and cheaper. I suppose I should tell you what it is right? This is the Ultra Aqua Brow Tint which is basically an eye brow gel in a squeezy tube. It's a smudge-proof, water-proof, long-wear formula that adapts to your skins temperature through the day to keep it in place and looking it's best. There's 4 shades, I have medium (which is very red toned which isn't my kind of brow colour unfortunately). This fills in space areas easily and defines your brows and stays in place all day. I find the Real Techniques Angled Eyeliner Brush from the limited edition Nic's Picks kit is the best brush for this as it's the perfect size and gives a natural effect. Plus, this is only £3 so if you want to try something like this, I would definitely say give this one a try.

I will be doing a makeup look using as much Makeup Revolution products as I can very soon so keep an eye out for that. It should be up next week sometime.
