The Weekly Round Up #85

This week has been a pretty rough week, I had an injection into my hip again which hurt like a biatch which made work, driving and walking very difficult. But I have been using some products which have been making me look more human than I feel.

Because I am constantly going between my house and my boyfriends house I tend to be living out of a bag, so my beauty products need to be transported safely and carefully so they don't get ruined. So I picked up this Brush Case from Ebay and I have been loving it. It has 3 sections. The left which has a zip compartment as well as 3 brush holders. Then there is a detachable mesh zip pouch in the middle which I tend to put in small palettes to keep them safe, and then, as you can see here...

...there is another section for more brushes. This then zips up and keeps everything inside protected and clean. There is another zip compartment on the outside but it doesn't hold very much.

Next is my skincare and when I have a big bag, I tend to fill it with crap that I don't really need. Which is why, when this Glossybox Pouch came with this months Glossybox I got super excited and put all my skincare products and medications in there. It's the perfect size and although it is jam packed, it has my essentials in there so my bag doesn't weigh a tonne when I have to carry it to the car. Plus, how cute is it?

Also from this months Glossybox, this Lollipops Délicieuse Lip Balm has been a must have for me this week. It makes my lips so soft and smooth, lasts longer than many other lip balms and it smells amazing. It's comfortable to wear so there's no sticky feeling or funny taste and I just love it. I love that it's in a squeezy tube and not in a little pot, the idea of all that bacteria from dipping your finger into a pot and putting it on your lips just creeps me out.

I have been loving the sculpting powder from the Charlotte Tilbury FilmStar Bronze & Glow Palette. I use it for contouring but it's also great for general bronzing of the face and I like to do that with a large Stippling Brush from ELF but the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush is also a great option.

I'm still trying out the L'Oreal Setting Spray which I have been loving. I have been using it everyday, even thought a lot of those I didn't really need it, but I have seen a difference in how long my makeup lasts on an everyday basis and even with minimal makeup it prolongs the wear time. It has a pleasant scent, the spray is great and it absorbs into the skin fast so there's no sticky or wet feeling.

My dark circles have been terrible this week so I've been needing some high coverage concealer and I love my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener jobby but for actually concealing the dark circles the NYX HD Concealer in Porcelain has been doing a great job. I normally blend this in with a RT Stippling Brush but I've been using the Beauty Blender and it's been giving a great coverage with a natural finish so you can't tell that I have half a tube of concealer under my eyes.

My base combination this week has been the L'Oreal True Match with the NARS Sheer Glow mixed in. It's a great little duo as I find the True Match is ever so slightly too dark and lasts forever, and the Sheer Glow is ever so slightly too light but has incredible coverage. So together, they make a foundation super team.

You would have seen me mention the new Batiste Stylist Range before but this week I have been obsessed with the Batiste Volumising Spray. It does exactly what it says, it gives so much volume and texture to your hair that I have to be careful not to apply too much as it can leave a white-ish cast in your hair. For £2,99 this range of styling products is definitely worth checking out.

I have been going on about Real Techniques Brushes for ages now but I love them that much that they deserve a permanent spot in my favourites. But I've been testing out these Real Techniques Bold Metal Brushes and I have to admit I am really impressed. These are slightly dirty as I have been using them but they're so soft and fluffy, pick up the perfect amount of product and then just blends it seamlessly onto the skin. They're pricier than the original RT brushes but they're beautiful in every way.

If you haven't seen this weeks blog posts, then go check them out, but here's a few of my favourites.
July's Glossybox  went up this week as well as an Introduction to Makeup Revolution and following on from last month's post I also showed you my Best Concealer's For... which you guys seemed to like so I will be doing more of those in the future.

I hope you liked this weeks posts and liked seeing what products I was loving. I am still going to be uploading all this coming week too so keep an eye out for some reviews, makeup looks and a lip combo that won't budge.

What are your favourite things from this week?

  1. Lovely post, your new makeup case is super cute! Not everyone seems to like the new Real Techniques brushes so it's nice to see someone who actually likes them. I'm sorry about your hip!
