Bronze & Glow - Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Mercier and Too Faced

08:00

There's been a few luxury products that I've managed to get my hands on recently and I wanted to share my initial thoughts with you. I have been admiring these for quite a while and now that I have them i cannot stop using them. It is a bronze and glow kind of theme as they're all highlighting, bronzing and contouring products. Hope you enjoy this kind of post, if you do, I may do some more in the future.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow

My very first Charlotte Tilbury product and the moment I opened it and saw it, it truly was love at first sight. I know, a bit dramatic for a makeup product but for the price of this, it had better be that good.
This is not a cheap product, and I swear they do some kind of clever marketing tactics and have lasers that subliminally create an image that says "You have to buy me right now otherwise you can't live the rest of your life being truly happy and content!!" I have a problem, I know, but that's my excuse and I am sticking to it.
Everything about this product is luxury and pure amazing-ness and I don't know why I hadn't picked it up before. Although it really hasn't done anything good for my bank balance and the Charlotte Tilbury wishlist is growing rapidly.
A stunning contour shade with a beautiful highlighter to go with it. Creating a palette without any other palettes or shades to go with it, just one contour powder and one highlighter, just proves that CT has a pretty clever head on those shoulders. Plus, look at that packaging, isn't it just the most beautiful thing you've ever seen.

A conventional contour powder is matte, more of a grey-ish brown tone and is used to sculpt the face by adding shadow and definition. This particular sculpting powder has the grey/taupe kind of shade however it's not matte, but it still does the sculpting job and give a beautiful glow to the complexion too. The shimmer is barely noticeable on the skin, it just gives that radiant bronze lit-from-within kind of glow. Another incredibly unique feature to this piece of makeup art. As for the highlighter, the pale gold sheen it gives to the cheekbones and the formula, the way it applies to the skin and the size of the shimmer, it all just, works. Whether you use these together, or separately they always look flawless and it's just perfection. There is a cream offering now which is a limited edition product released with the Charlotte Tilbury X Norman Parkinson Collection, it's £55, so slightly more expensive, but I don't believe the shades are the same to the original Bronze & Glow as they're called Sun Tan and Sun Light and they don't look like they would go well with my skin tone but you never know, I may end up picking one up, we'll just have to see.

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder
Weird name for such a stunning highlighter like this, but baked products are somewhat new to me and once I saw this product swatched, I knew I had to purchase it.
The packaging isn't something I am that keen on as it's quite big and bulky and it's just unnecessary I feel, but it's definitely what's inside that counts.
As with most baked products, the shimmer is kept to a minimum but the sheen levels are turned way up. The look it leaves on the skin is just stunning, but believe me when I say that this is no subtle highlight and that when you wear this, you sure do make a statement. You can obviously tone it down but only applying a small amount and blending it out with your powder or foundation brush, but similar to The Balms Mary Lou-Manizer this is a pigmented SOB and definitely requires a light hand - something I need to work on.

It's a very unique colour when it comes to highlights. It has a pale gold base with what almost looks like a hint of silver shimmer running through it, but there's gold in there too. It is the perfect champagne gold highlight and this is going to last me forever.

Too Faced The Little Book of Bronzers
I know what you're thinking, who on earth needs that much bronzer? I think we all know by now that my addiction to makeup is way past the normal girls collection line.
But this bronzer wardrobe is actually pretty fab, it has one for every occasion. They're smaller than the regular compacts Too Faced sell. The individual packaging is great, simple yet perfect, but for this particular palette they're all in one place so you don't have to get out numerous compacts to decide which one you want to use, you can just open one palette and decide from there.

So here's what we have:
Milk Chocolate Soleil - matte, light/medium skin tones, can be used to contour.
Chocolate Soleil - matte, medium/deep skin tones, great contour shade.
Snow Bunny - luminous, winter glow, with some pink tones in there for many skin tones and shades.
Dark Chocolate Soleil - matte, deep/tan skin tones, new, gives a rich, deep tan.
Pink Leopard - blushing, sun-kissed bronze, natural bronze with a flush of pink.
Beach Bunny - luminous, rich, sun-kissed summer glow, with a peachy/rose tone too.
Endless Summer - 16 hour long wear, great everyday bronzer to warm up the complexion.
Sun Bunny - natural glow, a duo with a lighter and a darker bronze shade, perfect for all year round.

The formula makes these powders so easy to blend, they last all day and there's definitely something there for everyone - even those of us who have super fair skin or even those with super dark skin.
My favourites currently is the Milk Chocolate Soleil as it's the perfect bronzer/contour for my skin tone and the Snow Bunny as I think the glow it gives is stunning glow to the complexion without being too OTT. And who doesn't like the amazing scent of those chocolate bronzers. It's heavenly, chocolate-y, yummy good-ness and I personally think they smell amazing.
