July's Birchbox

It's Birchbox time again and this months theme is...
... Make A Splash.
It's all about summer essentials, and there's some real gems in here too. Let's have a look shall we?

Pop Beauty Eyeshadow Trio in Peach Parfait £15.50
Starting with this eyeshadow trio from Pop Beauty, this is a pigmented SOB and although peachy shades aren't normally my thang, I definitely want to give these a try and try and make them work for my skin tone. They're very shimmery but I mean c'mon, how beautiful and summery do they look?

UNANI Aloe Vera Gel £15
This is a thin clear, Aloe Vera gel and this is best for moisturizing, soothing and calming the skin, whether it's irritated, sun burnt or just dry. Aloe Vera is the best thing for that so this is a good thing to have around during the summer.

Spa to You Nail Buffer £4.99
As silly as this sounds, this feels like a really sturdy, well made nail buffer and I really hope this one lasts longer than my others which are all squishy and the sides are coming off of those. I've never heard of Spa to You but I may take a look on their site and see what else they have in their range.

Indemne Eau de Génie £11.20
I thought this was a fragrance or something - c'mon, you see the words Eau de and you just automatically think of perfume - but this is actually an organic natural boost face mist and it says to spray it onto freshly cleansed skin and it's supposed to enhance your regular cleanser with it's cocktail of grapefruit, lemon, apricot and tomato waters to leave skin soft and glowing. All of this sounds great right? I will definitely be giving this a go.

Benefit Cosmetics Dream Screen £25
I've been looking for a face SPF this week as I wanted to review some, and although this is a very small sample, it's very light and liquidy so I can see it lasting a few uses. I put a blob of this on the back of my hand to see what it felt and smelt like and I was really shocked to find it felt like a smoothing primer, it has a matte finish and doesn't feel sticky, there's no trace of it once it absorbs (which is in seconds) so it's great for underneath makeup as well as on it's own. Really impressed with this so far, will see how I get on with wearing it on my skin. *Crosses fingers - please don't break me out.

Soigné Nail Polish in Pistache £11
Next is this beautiful nail polish which is kind of like a muted pastel mint kind of colour with a grey tinge. It's difficult to explain really but I like the packaging, it looks like it's a more expensive, designer nail polishes. The brush is quite big and flat which makes application quick and easy so I will keep you up dated on this one once I have worn it. Maybe it will be a cause for another Monday Mani.

This months box is pretty good. I like that it didn't come in a box at all as I find that's a waste of packaging, when it's in a bag inside the box anyway. But that's besides the point. The theme and the product selection are both on point this month and I look forward to trying these products more. As always I will keep you updated on any favourites.
