The Best Foundation for...

Foundation is the one product in makeup that I just buy far too much of. I am always looking for something that will make me look flawless without feeling too heavy and being too noticeable on the skin, so whenever I see a foundation that is new or that I haven't tried but has had lots of reviews on I have to give it a try. Today I wanted to give you a little round up as to the best foundations for different purposes.

The best for Longevity:
It has to be the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. This is a thicker, creamy kind of consistency compared to the other foundations which makes it a long wearing, great coverage offering. I understand they have re-formulated this foundation and have come out with a photo ready version and a hydrating version and I don't know why they did that or which one is the closest to this original formula but I really recommend this if you need a flawless long lasting base.

The best for those Lighter Coverage Days:
When I am just looking for a light base, a teeny bit of coverage and that doesn't cause a lot of faff, the one I always go back to is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude. I like to apply this with the Louise Young LY34 Brush and it just gives a beautiful light coverage.

The best for a Fuller coverage:
This is my favourite foundation ever, and it also fits in the all rounder category too but I feel it is better for this. The NARS Sheer Glow has a beautiful finish yet has incredible coverage. I cannot recommend this one enough, I think its incredible and everyone should try it at least once.

The best for those Oily Days:
I'm not one for a super matte complexion but the L'Oreal Infalliable Pro Matte gives a fairly natural finish and is great for normal to oily skin. It doesn't look cakey on the skin and it lasts a pretty decent time too, don't know if I would agree with 24 hours but hey, everyone's skin is different.

The best All Rounder:
I haven't mentioned this one for a while on my blog as I have been trying out lot's of new foundations but the L'Oreal True Match is in my opinion the best all rounder. The finish is natural, the coverage is light but build-able and the lasting power of this is pretty great too. The only problem I have with this is the shade range, yet again it's not light enough for my skin tone but with some fake tan and a summer glow it matches pretty nicely. This is an incredible drugstore foundation and the closest thing I have found to the Sheer Glow.

The best for a Night Out:
It has to be the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, as this just smashes it when it comes to lasting power but it also doesn't contain any SPF which is great if there's cameras around. This can last for a long time on me and although the shade range doesn't go fair enough for my skin tone, it's still an okay match in the summer which is when the longevity is super important for those hot summer evenings out.

I hope you found this helpful and it gives you some ideas if you're looking for a new foundation to try or if you're still on the hunt for The One
