Beauty fact or fiction

After the last fact or fiction post went down really well, I wanted to add another one to the mix and I would love to hear your feedback regarding it as I plan on doing a few more.

Today's subject is...

Does shaving make your hair grow back thicker and darker?

The misconception is that when you shave, your hair will grow back thicker, longer, darker, stronger and other 'ers that I can't think of right now. That's just something your parents told you so you didn't start shaving your legs too early. But actually, here's what really happens...

Underneath your skin is the hair follicle, this is where your hair grows from. When you shave, you're taking off the dead hair that's on the surface of the skin, that doesn't come close to the hair follicle and neither the thickness or colour of the hair is affected, therefore the hair will grow back the same as what it always does. So... Does shaving make your hair grow back thicker and darker?

Nope, this is fiction

Hope you enjoyed this and let me know if you have any queries that you want to have some clarity on as to whether it's true or false, or if you want to see more of these posts on IABT. Thanks for reading.
