New Drugstore Beauty Launches

08:00

Happy Friday everyone. The weekend is so close I can almost taste it and I am off work this weekend so it makes it even more exciting. Let's hope the weather stays nice and sunny. Any who, on to today's post...

I am all for trying out new launches, especially when they're from the drugstore. So here's a few products that I have been trying out, and my thoughts on them.

I'm going to start with complexion and the L'Oreal Infalliable Matte Foundation is a product I've seen a lot of hype over so I thought I would pick it up. First things first, the shade range is pants. I have the palest shade 10 Porcelain but it is slightly too dark for my skin so I just have to blend it out well. Although this says its a matte finish, I think it's the perfect natural, still looks like skin kind of finish. The word matte in complexion products scares me slightly as they can tend to be very cakey and thick and that is not what I am all about. But this foundation really surprised me, its texture is quite light and thin and leans more on the natural satin finish with light to medium coverage. However you can build up the coverage so it's full and you can set it with powder to mattify your skin and keep it in place all day, I just prefer the more natural medium coverage look. I think this is a great foundation, but don't run away when you see the word matte on the packaging, give it a try, if you like the same kind of products that I do for your base then I think you'll like this.

Next is the Maxfactor CC Concealer Sticks and there's 5 available in the line, each with there own job...
1. The Balancer (Pink) Corrects dark spots on lighter skin tones
2. The Illuminator (Highlight) Illuminates and brightens
3. The Revitaliser (Lavender) Corrects dull, sallow skin
4. The Reducer (Green) Corrects redness
5. The Brightener (Yellow) Corrects dark circles

I have the yellow and green one and I think they're both great and I want to try the other ones too. As they're in a chubby stick crayon type of packaging I thought they would be quite dry but actually, when applied onto the skin and blended in (first with fingers then a brush is best I've found) they feel really creamy, they're so easy to blend and they do their job. Think they're brilliant and great for on the go, quick makeup look to correct any imperfections.

Another concealer now and you may have seen me go on and on about the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation & Powder, well Rimmel have no launched they're Lasting Finish Concealer, which comes in this little pot. Concealers in pots aren't the most convenient but this particular formula is best in this form as it's very thick yet surprisingly creamy so once you touch it with your finger and apply to your face, it just melts into the skin and hides any imperfections like blemishes, redness etc. I have tried it under my eyes (warm up and apply to your under eyes and blend using your fingers) and although it's not my favourite, it's good as a quick touch up if it's the only concealer you've got with you. It's a great drugstore concealer and I love that it's such full coverage and you can pick it up for around a fiver.

When it comes to eyeshadows, I reach for my Naked Basics Palettes or the Lorac Pro Palette but when I saw these in the drugstore I just had to pick up a few shades. They're the new Seventeen Mono Eyeshadows which cost £3.89 each. Although they're not the best quality, they're still beautiful shades and these were my favourites from the collection...

They're packed full of shimmer so you wouldn't want to use these in the crease, but you can spray your brush with a setting spray to get it wet and then apply the shadow and this intensifies the shade so it looks extra metallic and shimmery on the lid.

I've done a whole review on the Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laques along with their matte counterparts so I'm not going to go in to these too much but basically, they're a beautiful light weight gloss which has some amazing pigmentation. They feel like water on the lips, and they're not sticky at all. If you want to check out the review I did then click HERE.

You may have seen me talk about the Collection Eyes Uncovered Eyeshadow Palettes as I think they're just incredible, and they only cost £3-£4 which is crazy affordable. I have three palettes...

Eyes Uncovered Nude Palette
This was the first palette I picked up and it really drew me in because it looks so similar to the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palettes and although the UD is mostly mattes and this is mostly shimmery, and these even run very cool except for Chocolate Milk which is almost identical to the Naked Basics 2 so I think this is great for anyone who is on a smaller budget and can't or won't splurge on the Urban Decay. This is my favourite out of the 3 just because it is more to my taste and my shade preference, but I do still like the other two and still get use out of them.

Little Mix All About The Eyes Palette
This one has a black eyeshadow which is always handy to have. Although it's not the blackest black I own, it's great as eyeliner or to deepen up the outer corner, so it's one that I will get a lot of use out of I think. The copper bronze and gold shades in this are just stunning and you can pick this up for only £2.99. Crazy.

Eyes Uncovered Nude Bronze Palette
The shades in this one are more on the darker tones, compared to the others that have a few more lighter shades. This is more bronze and chocolate Browns with one slightly shimmery highlight but I like that it has a few different options which I would personally use to darken up the outer crease. They would also be great as a smokey eye, I just don't tend to go that heavy with my makeup.

I think all of the shades are great. They're pigmented, there's a mix of matte and shimmers, highlight shades and dark browns and even a black for eyeliner so I am really impressed with all of these and think you should definitely pick some up if you see them.

I hope you have enjoyed this new drugstore beauty product launch kind of deal (not sure what I'm calling it yet) and that you've got some ideas of what to pick up on your next trip to the drugstore.mif you have any recommendations for drugstore products then please leave them in a comment below or on any of my social media platforms and thanks for reading.
