The Makeup Bag #12 - The Weekend Edition

It's been a really long time since I have done one of these posts so I'm really excited to finally have another one up. Today is all about the weekend makeup. Whether I have the weekend to myself, and don't have many plans involving going out in public yet still wanting to feel human, or maybe even going for an afternoon of walking the dog, eating the awesome-est apple crumble and playing on the wii with my pops, this is the lighter, more natural makeup that I do (because he may be my Dad but noone needs to see me without makeup for longer than 10 minutes). Enough rambling, here's the products I use...

I've been picking the L'Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream up over the Benefit Porefessional as this is a great dupe at a quarter of the price. This smooths over my skin and is great even on its own. I also use the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Base as I am all about that glow.
I like apply then Benefit Watts Up Highlighter to my cheekbones before my foundation so it looks slightly more natural.

The amount of foundation I use at the weekend is cut in half. It's still the NARS Sheer Glow, and I only do it to even out my complexion slightly and then I go in with the Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes. The Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush in Seductive Pink is the perfect light pink natural flush shade, so that goes onto the cheeks.

Next it's on to brows and I start with the L'Oreal Brow Plumper just to tint them and put them into place. When it comes to eyes, I'm not really all that bothered about eyeshadow or eyeliner so I apply a few coats of the Maxfactor False Lash Effect in brown/black as I prefer the lighter softer look and I then use the Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliner in brown and/or black just to fill in my top and bottom water lines.

Finish off with some of the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors in 05 and that's my makeup routine done. It's still quite a few products and it could definitely be slimmed down even more, but I really like the look this gives and it's perfect for a relaxing weekend off.

What's your weekend makeup routine?

  1. Nice picks. I love brown/black mascara as I think it gives a defined look to the eyes but more subtle than total black. I've been meaning to try that L'Oréal eyebrow product as the brush looks like the perfect size to try and tame my unruly brows:)

    1. Thank you :) it's definitely a great drugstore brow product. Let me know if you give it a try and what you think :)

  2. I love the L'oreal brow gel, it leaves my brows with such a natural look. Also, its an interesting idea to apply illuminator before foundation, I would never have thought of doing that, but sometimes when I apply illuminator it ends up looking too harsh so maybe I'll give this a go!

    1. The brow plumper lasts all day as well. Really great product. Well applying it before foundation means it still shows through giving a natural glowing complexion :) let me know your thoughts if you do try it :) thanks for reading :)
