Beauty fact or fiction

Today's order of business?...

Having oily skin means you CANT use moisturiser or oils on your skin.

What do you think? Is it fact or fiction?

If you have an oily skin type doesn't mean that there's too much moisture. You can still have dehydrated and oily skin. Having oily skin means that your skin is overproducing it's natural oils, but it's doing it for a reason. It's getting dried out so often it's having to work extra hard to get some hydration back. So all those foaming cleansers and drying face washes and not using moisturiser is what's exacerbating your oily skin.

Here's 3 simple steps to combatting that extra oil...

Once your skin starts to get that moisture back using these products, your skin won't be so greasy. Trust me, I had fairly oily skin and now it's pretty normal and manageable, no need for setting my makeup or having completely matte skin - I wear the dewey skin look and I love it. I changed my routine completely and I am really happy with the results. I swapped out the drying face washes for cleansing oils and balms. The light, not doing a lot of anything, moisturisers were replaced by overnight nourishing face masks and moisturisers, and the use for powder reduced more and more each day. Your skin won't magically get better over night, it's a work in progress kind of deal but it's well worth the wait.

Extra tips:
1. If you're not keen on the thicker moisturisers, find formulas that are oil free but still give hydration.
2. If your makeup tends to wear off or slide on your face, use a primer and even a setting spray to lock it in place so it doesn't budge.
3. You can absolutely use powder to set your makeup if that's what you prefer doing. If you're finding the powder looks to cakey or too powdery, simple spritz some setting spray onto your skin so the powder settles and looks more natural.

Today's statement was fiction. If you have any questions or things you want me to clarify then just let me know.

Did you guess right? Fact or fiction?
