2014 Favourites (2)

Here's part 2 of my 2914 favourites which covers all things skincare and some extra bits thrown in there too.

I think it's pretty clear that I am a beauty addict. But skincare is my passion. I love trying out new things. I love finding skincare gems that I just cannot live without and I love sharing them with other people to see what they think. I looked at 2013's favourites and I had about 6 skincare items from the 5/6 months I became really into skincare, so this year is a huge difference and I've been amazed by a lot of products. I still love the products I mentioned in that post,

Makeup Remover
Starting off with removing makeup, and the product that I've been loving to do this is the Garnier Micellar Water as this takes off the bulk of my eye makeup, and I then go in with the L'Oreal Cleansing Oil which is my favourite product to remove my makeup, and I feel this has made a massive difference in my skin.

For cleansing, the Oskia Cleansing Gel and their Perfect Cleanser are both my absolute favourite cleansers and although I still love my Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm, these are just as amazing and I'm totally hooked.

For toner, I've been keeping it very soothing and calming but I do like to use the La Roche-Posay Serozinc Solution at night which helps to get rid of little bumps and uneven skin tone so I love this. It is also great for preparing my skin for my serum...

...and the one I am in love with and recommend to everyone, is the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair ll which is expensive but it's effective at smoothing my skin and making it feel super soft and hydrated. I then would go in with the Pai Rosehip Oil which has really helped fade any scars left from blemishes and generally just evened out my skin. The Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a great treatment for my skin as it helps to moisturise but also leaves skin radiant and healthy looking.

My number 1 product from the entire year across every category has to be the Avene TriAcnealThis stuff has cleared my skin up so much as it's great at banishing spots and little bumps if I've had a reaction to something.
I've mentioned this next treatment a lot, but I did my own DIY Tea Tree Toner, which is so easy to make and use, and it's great for your skin.
The Nutrogena Oil Free Moisturiser is something I use everyday, morning and night, and it's a great product and has really helped with my skin.
My favourite face mask I've discovered from the entire year is the REN Clarimate Deep Cleansing Mask Which is a great one for clogged, oil or problematic skin.
I've also discovered organic honey as a face mask which I really do love as well and highly recommend if you're on a budget or want to try more natural products.
Of course I had to include Alpha H Liquid Gold, and although I discovered this in 2013, I've used it constantly through the year and it's definitely a major part in keeping my skin clear.

Eye Cream
Another Kiehls product I've discovered this year and have been using religiously twice a day every day is the Creamy Avocado Eye Cream which has really helped moisturise my under eyes but also has faded my dark circles a little bit which I am so pleased with.

Now for moisturisers and the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask from Origins has been a constant part of my skincare routine as it really gives an extra boost of hydration when my skin has felt a bit dry or dehydrated. The Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate is a fairly new discovery but it definitely deserves a place in my annual favourites as it is just incredible. This makes my skin so soft and smooth it feels almost like velvet or something.

Finally for skincare is lips and the Nuxe Rev de Miel lip balm was a 2014 disovery and it is the most moisturising, thick, nourishing balm ever. I've also been obsessed with the Balmi Lip Balm in Raspberry. I love the pot and not having to stick my finger in a pot all the time, plus it's super moisturising.

I've tried lots of beauty products but there are some random things that don't fit into any of the other categories or are just miscellaneous beauty products so I thought I would include them first, before we get into the craziness of makeup and skincare.

I've read a few beauty books this year that definitely deserve a mention as I think they're great books and I'm keen to read more. First is Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes. Great book with some awesome tips and tricks. Same goes for Lauren Conrad's Beauty and Style. These are very popular books and I'm keen to read more beauty books.

This year I also purchased my very own dressing table which I have wanted for a long time and I am completely in love with this. It does come with a big mirror and little drawers on either side of the mirror but I wanted to try it a different way so I could put other things on it and I just love it. I love doing my makeup at it in the morning. It's the perfect size for my room and the drawer is pretty big so it fits my everyday makeup and then some so it's just perfect.

A good rounder product that I've discovered this year is Coconut Oil. This has so many uses and benefits and could fit into every single category I have for my 2014 favourites so I thought I would stick it here instead. This is great for hair, skin, makeup, beauty DIY's, body, hands, cuticles, feet, just everything. It's affordable and if you would like to see some of the uses you should go check out the post I did.

There's been a new fragrance that I've been obsessed with ever since I received it in a subscription beauty box at the beginning of the year. The Christopher Wicks English Laundry No7 perfume is quite possibly my favourite ever scent. It's perfect for the cold autumn winter months and I really just love that musky fragrance it has but yet it's still feminine. My favourite that I've loved for a few years now is Caroline Herrera 212 Sexy. This is another deep and musky scent that I've had numerous bottles of and I still love it. I also have the Paco Robanne Black XS For Her fragrance which I am in love with. I love all of these perfumes a lot.

I've been pretty obsessed with candles this year and I've tried some from TU @ Sainsburys, some from Store Twenty One (I think it's called) which have beautiful glass jars. But my favourite out of all of them is the Wax Lyrical Black Orchid & Musk Candle which I only got my hands on in November and I love it. As you can tell, I'm very into the musky, deep and sexy scents as I just think they're beautiful.

The This Works Deep Stress Less Rollerball has really helped to relax me a lot more and it really helps me to unwind and rest, even if I'm not actually sleeping

I treated myself to an Ipad this year and I have been 100% obsessed with it. I use it every single day without fail. It's the IPad Air and I just think it's great and everyone should get a tablet of some kind even if it's not by Apple.
Because of my ipad, I've been watching a lot of TV series and movies on Netflix. It's become a massive problem. Some of my favourites that I've watched this year are;
American Horror Story
Hawaii 5-0
The Walking Dead
Person of interest
Plus the goodness knows how many zombie films that I've watched.

That's it the 2014 favourites. I know it took a while and there was a lot of products but I hope you have got some recommendations from this and have enjoyed seeing what I've been loving throughout 2014.

What's your 2014 favourites??

** Disclaimer: It's very difficult not to just pick everything in your skincare routine that you know is doing something good for your skin. So although this is a lot of products, you can be certain in knowing that I love each and every single one and highly recommend checking them out.
