November Favourites

I've got quite a few favourites to share with you this month, with a mixture of skincare, makeup, a couple of hair bits, and even a candle.

Starting off with the hair bits and first is the Beauty Protector Leave in which I received in this months Birchbox. This is the same brand as my favourite hair oil and this smells exactly the same. There's a huge list of things this little bottle can do (see my Birchbox post HERE
It does all of those things and I think it's great. Will definitely be picking up a full size as it's not too expensive either.
Next hair product is the Charles Worthington Texturising Spray ??, and when I started using this, I wasn't that keen as it made my hair feel stiff and like there was a tonne of product in it, but I now use a smaller amount and run my fingers through my hair a lot more so it disperses evenly and feels much nicer. This stuff has some serious hold to it as well as some great volumising powers.

Onto makeup and this month you may have seen my Brand Focus post on Maybelline products, (if not, click HERE) and this month I really enjoyed using the Maybelline Color Tattoos again which I now have more shades and some of the newer formulas too, so they've been great to use this month. Some of my favourites are On & On Bronze, Vintage Plum, Creamy Beige and also Chocolate Suede

Next is an eyeshadow palette and this is what I've used pretty much all month. The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette is very popular and I've seen so many reviews and looks using this palette so I just had to get it. I got mine shipped from America but I'm sure they'd have some on Amazon or somewhere. The shadows are very pigmented, blend pretty well and the shades in the palette are stunning so I am really pleased with that. Although I love this palette, I prefer the quality and performance of the Lorac Pro Palette slightly more.

Onto the complexion now and I've been all about the glowing, radiant complexion so here's a few things that's been helping me with that. First to prep my skin I've been using a mixture of the Kiehls Micro Blur Perfecting Primer and the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. The Kiehls one smooths out my skin and the Clarins gives a nice glow. I highly recommend both products. For some extra glow (can never have too much in the winter) I've been using the Benefit Sun Beam. I have been loving this this month. I've worn it pretty much everyday for the last few weeks and I just think it's great at giving a really nice glow to your skin. Sometimes I apply it before or after my foundation, or even mix it in to give an all over glow. This is only a sample size and you get quite a bit in it. It is expensive and that's the only bad thing about this product, but there are cheaper alternatives at the drugstore which are just as good.

I've also been loving the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Keep it classyThis is such a great product and I have picked up some other shades which I'm sure will be in a post soon. But this one is a great, my lips but better shade and with an almost matte finish, it looks great for any occasion and with any look. I love this thing and before this was released, I was very tempted to check out the NARS Lip Crayons but now I don't need to as many people have said these are very similar if not better than them so I'm so happy I have my hand on some of these, but this shade is definitely my favourite right now. Here are the other two shades I picked up...

Onto skincare now and this month has been a bit of a strange one. I started the month out with completely clear skin which I'd had for a few weeks. But then something changed (no idea what, weather maybe) and my skin freaked out and I got quite a few blemishes on chin and around my nose. My skin was quite red and irritated in these areas, more than normal, so I decided to pull out the big guns. Oskia Perfect Cleanser, I love they're Renaissance Gel a Cleanser for the morning time so I have this a go in the evenings. I had a bit of trouble with the packaging and could t get it out, but when I eventually received another one, it was well worth the wait. This is so thick and luxurious and really feels nice to massage into the skin. This alone didn't clear up my skin by any stretch of the imagination but it really helped to soothe and calm the irritated skin down. Plus, it just felt so nice to put on my skin I would have found any excuse.
The REN Clarimate Mask had a massive part to play in clearing up my skin and it did a pretty darn good job. My skin isn't completely clear again yet, but it's well on it's way and it's in a much better state than it was a few weeks ago. I love this mask. It's great at getting deep into the pores and clearing them out, getting rid of impurities and nasty stuff. It's also great at stopping spots in their tracks. Y'know when your skin gets sore and you can feel a lump coming up on your skin and you know it's going to be a bad one that will take ages to go? Well this stuff just stops it. Reduces the swelling the redness and the size of the blemish. By morning, it was completely flat against my skin and no redness in sight. Love this stuff and I highly recommend as it's a pretty great price too.

Don't normally have too many random items in monthly favourites but there's a few other things I wanted to mention. I read the Sali Hughes Pretty Honest Book at the beginning of the month which I really enjoyed. There's some great tips and it's a really informative book for any beauty lovers out there.

American Horror Story was my TV series of choice this month. I watched all 3 seasons on Netflix and I am a massive fan. All 3 seasons were great, although my absolute favourite is probably 1 or 3. But they're all good so I highly recommend watching them if you're a fan of that kind of genre.

A perfume I've been loving is from Christopher Wicks and it's the English Laundry Perfumes, No7 and For Her. Both of these I received in beauty boxes and I have completely fallen in love with the scent, so much so that I have a rollerball and handbag sprayer on the way right now. My absolute favourite out of the two is probably No7 as I gravitate to that one more but I can see myself wearing For Her more in the warmer months I think. I'm very into deep, sexy, musk smelling perfumes so these are right up my ally. I'm keen to get my hands on the Elizabeth & James Nirvana Perfumes though to see what they're like as they've had a lot of hype recently.

Finally is the Black Orchid & Musk Candle. I am 100% obsessed with the scent of this. It reminds me a lot of the perfumes and it would make a great gift. The scent, to me, is very fitting for the colder months. As you can see I haven't burned it yet, but hopefully it will kick off a lot of fragrance. It smells very cosy and fitting for this time of year (just me?). If you have access to a Dunelm Mill, or can check them out online, I definitely recommend you giving it a whiff. But I will be stocking up in these as well as some of the other scents they have.

There we go. I know that was quite a bit of stuff so hopefully you're all still with me. I cannot believe that Christmas is right around the corner, so I'm going to be getting in the spirit by doing some Christmas shopping now, so I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of my favourite products this month and please feel free to let me know what your favourite things are from the month of November.

What are you wanting for Christmas?
