A Weekend Post: October's Birchbox

So here is this months Birchbox run down. The theme is Work It! and there's a decent variety of products in here so let's get cracking.

Let me start by saying the pouch this comes in is actually pretty cute and I will be shoving this in my handbag and using for my beauty related items as it's the perfect size. Love it.

1. Balance Me Cleanse & Smooth Face Balm | £20
Said to be "a nourishing cleanser with exfoliating oatmeal powder and perfect for normal to dry skin but also balances oily skin too" this sounds really intriguing and I am looking forward to trying this out. There's been a few Balance Me products that I've received in subscription boxes and I've liked them so I hope it's the same for this.

2. KMS California Hair Play Playable Texture | £15.50
This says it's a "multi-functional spray for prepping, styling and setting your finished look". It can be used on wet or dry hair and add volume and generally style. This is just a volumising, texturising spray but it says it's weightless so I really hope it doesn't leave any crispy, dry feeling in my hair as I find that I have that issue with other texture sprays. But the packaging of this one is pretty cool too.

3. Shaveworks The Cool Fix | £11
I've never tried on of these kind of products before but it's supposed to be very cooling, gel lotion which treats ingrown hairs, razor bumps and redness after hair removal. It apparently combines a powerful exfoliating agent with soothing relief for irritated skin. Sounds very intriguing and I'm keen to see how well it performs. I haven't heard of the brand before but it's something I will take a look into if this product goes well.

4. Pixi by Petra Shea Butter Lip Balm | £8
I've not tried anything from Pixi before but I've seen many good reviews, so I was excited to see this lip balm in here. The shade isn't anything spectacular but the formula is very nourishing, very creamy and it smells really yummy.

5. Lollipops Nail Lacquer | £7
What a stunning shade of red. This doesn't have a shade name which is odd but it's the red one (obvs). This is from a Parisian brand, that I haven't heard of before I don't think, but I like the packaging and the style of the nail polish so I'm keen to try out the formula and see what that's like. The brush looks like a good size too so hopefully should be pretty quick and easy to apply.

6. Birchbox Lipstick Pen | £2.50
The little lifestyle extras that Birchbox put in are quite cute. I won't be using this as a pen as I cannot get the lid off, but it will be sitting on my desk for the time being. Infact, scrap that, it won't be sitting on my desk, it could be mistaken for something else and when you live with your parents, it's not ideal. Let's just finish this up shall we?

Overall I'm really happy with the products I have received this month. I'm keen to try all of the items and they are all either full size, or really good sample sizes so I'm happy.

Have you tried any of these products before?
