A Beauty Chat: Beauty things I should do, but don't

08:00

I don't know about you, but I am pretty lazy when there's a boring job that I know I need to do. I just prefer to take a nap, or do some blogging, take photos and that kind of thing. But there are beauty related tasks that I should do on a more regular basis I'm just never motivated enough to do. Here's those things...

1. Cleaning makeup brushes is probably the one thing I hate about wearing makeup. I spot clean them when I remember, but deep cleaning them all is a chore and I put it off as long as possible. Really I should be cleaning them every week, but unfortunately that's just not the case.

2. Throwing out mascaras every 3 months never happens. I only throw them out when they are too dry to use and don't do anything for my lashes. Every 3 months means I waste a lot of product and I just can't be dealing with that. Mascaras probably last me around 6 months. I wipe down the wand and brush every week or so to make sure it's clean and prolong the time I can use it for. Besides, some mascaras work best with the formula dried out a bit.

3. Pampering my feet is a difficult task for me. I have arthritis in my hips and its incredibly painful so there's no way I can get down to pamper my feet. I try to do it as often as I can when my hips are slightly less painful. It's a difficult and painful task but it gets done, just not as often as it should and not as thorough.

4. I for one, am so lazy that even the thought of moisturising my entire body even once a day, makes me want to curl up in a ball under my duvet and not come out for a week. I just can't stand it. After the shower I try to but it doesn't always happen. Sometimes I'm just too cold and waiting for a thick body butter to sink into my skin before I can get dressed is not a nice thought. In these situations, I normally just use a body oil or simply coconut oil. Or, when I'm in the shower, I use coconut oil all over my body and that keeps my skin hydrated enough that I don't really have to moisturise again when I get out - although I know I should.

5. I'm an online shopper so I get lots of beauty samples, which I stash in these jars. I have one for skin, hair, and an over flow one. Whenever I rummage through one of these, I always find things I want to try but I never get around to it as I have a routine now for my skin and hair so I just don't want to break that and end up with a bad reaction to something. I am very stuck in my ways now but I know I really should try a few of these or give them to friends and family. I just like to have them for travel etc.

So there's 5 of my beauty things that I should do but don't.
