A Favourite: September Faves

08:00

I'm interrupting Autumn Edit Week with an important announcement. It's monthly favourites time again.

Skincare:

In this months Birchbox there was a mini Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream which I have been trying out and I absolutely love it. It's so tiny and cute, but you barely need any and it's moisturising, creamy and sits well under makeup.

Next for skincare and actually an all round kind of product is Coconut Oil, I finally got around to giving this a go and I must say, everyone needs this in their life. It's amazing for everything. Removing makeup, moisturiser, eye cream, eye lash growth serum thing, hair mask, body moisturiser, shave cream, and the list goes on. Incredible. There will be some posts coming up soon which will tell you more amazing things about this jar of coconutty goodness.

Makeup:

I've finally got a slightly lighter shade of the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and I've been using it everyday, either on it's own or mixed with the NARS Sheer Glow, but I'm so happy to have this back in my life. It's the perfect match now, it makes my skin look glowy and healthy and it provides a decent coverage, especially with the help of SG.

To set my under eye concealer I have been using the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder which has been doing an amazing job of keeping everything where it needs to be, it brightens the area slightly as well and it's so fine that it doesn't look cakey or cling to dry patches or anything. I'm keen to get my hands on the loose powder for the face so I may be picking that up soon.

There's been three eye products that have really stepped up my eye makeup game this month. First is obviously, the Lorac Pro Palette which I picked up a few weeks ago and it's taken me a while to get my hands on it but I finally have and it was worth the wait. It's a perfect eyeshadow palette. Pigmentation, blendy-ness, shade range, range of finishes, it's just an all round amazing eyeshadow palette. The Behind The Scenes Eyeshadow Primer that came with it is product number 2. This stuff is amazing. It smooths everything out, keeps everything where it should be, and when I apply it, my eyelids feel so silky smooth it's weird but incredible.

For product number 3, the Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette is definitely still a favourite. I like the variety of shades it has, and that it has matte shades too. There's one particular look that I have worn a lot which actually comes on a card with the palette and a step by step guide to do it...

Now onto the lips and I've got my two favourites from the Maybelline Color Elixirs, Blush Essence and Raspberry Rhapsody. I've been leaning towards these two shades as they are very autumn/winter appropriate as a nude, or pink, berry shade. I love both of them, the whole range is incredible and I have done a full review and swatch of the shades I have and I've done it in true IABT face off style, putting them up against the L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquiid Lipsticks so go check that out if you haven't already. Bbu I love these products and there's plenty more shades that I don't have so maybe they'll be some new ones added to my collection next month.
The other lip product I have been loving is the Revlon Moisture Stain in Barcelona Nights, this I actually picked up on Fleur de Force's recommendation and I love the shade. It can be built up to be quite bold and bright, or, like what I do, I pat it in with my finger and tone it down slightly so it's just a light wash of colour and it stains the lips but keeps them moisturised too. The other shades that my Boots store had didn't really jump out at me but there are some others in the collection that I like which I may pick up.

The St Tropez Express Self Tanner is still my favourite self tanner out of the ones I have tried. It's amazing, it's easy to apply, it looks natural, and I have been loving it this month. I don't care if it's nearly autumn, self tanner can be used all year round. Besides, I quite like being slightly more tanned. Ghostly white can get boring. If you haven't seen my review/face off of self tanners for body and face, then go check it out.

This Orchid & Sweet Coconut Candle from TU has been my favourite this month. I also like the tea light ones, which I put in these heart holders and they just make my room smell incredible. One thing I love about autumn is that I can burn candles every night and the amazing warm scents that they have are just heavenly.

I hope you enjoy the rest of my autumn themed week here on It's a Beauty Thing.
