A Beauty Essential: Current faves from Drugstore

I use many higher end products in my daily routines but there are a few drugstore products that always manage to be what I go for over anything else so I thought I would share with you what some of those products are. I've done one of these posts before and those products are still used regularly.

Starting with makeup, and I have really been loving the Real Techniques Brushes. Not just the buffing brush or the contour brush but the eye brushes have really impressed me. They're soft, blend product amazingly and are so easy to clean. The Detail brush ?? is the one I like to apply the Sleek Concealer Palette ?? to blemishes or redness. This concealer is amazing. There's a corrector shade, a yellow toned concealer and a powder. All are brilliant, great quality, work really well and this little palette has amazed me and I highly recommend it.
Onto brows and over the last 6 months my brow game has changed dramatically but my recent love is for the Revlon Brow Fantasy in particular the gel. This has a slight reddish tone to it which is brilliant as I have a lot of red in my hair, both naturally and artificially. The Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara is my current must have when it comes to my lashes. This stuff is incredible and the waterproof version is just as good if not better.

Now for skincare and let's do this in the order one would apply their skincare. First off is removing makeup and the Garnier Micellar Water has really surprised me. I thought it was an extra, unnecessary step but actually it makes cleansing and everything else a lot faster. Plus, it's so affordable that it hasn't even crossed my mind to try the infamous Bioderma. Then onto cleaning the face and the exfoliator I cannot get enough of is the Soap & Glory Scrubatomic. This has the perfect amount of scrubby bits and does what I want it to - unclog pores, remove dry skin, keep skin fresh and help makeup look even better. Toner next and this is peoples most common "pointless" step (in their opinion) in a skincare routine. But I for one think this step is vital and for a drugstore option that I use twice a day, every day is the Garnier Soothing Toner ?? which does what it says. It doesn't have any nasties in it either so it doesn't irritate skin or cause any reactions. Onto moisturiser now and I have two which are equally as amazing but do different things, starting with the Neutrogena Oil free Moisturiser ??, I ise this twice a day on areas where I tend to break out the most. It has really helped these areas, it does what it says and I think it's awesome. The other moisturiser is the Aveeno Positively Radiant Day Cream ?? which is so nourishing, perfect under makeup, it, again, does what it says it should. I wouldn't say you notice the radiance thing straight away but with regular use and a close eye it does work.

Now to tackle the barnet and I for one resent this step. I have too much hair that just doesn't like to do what it's told and gets wild if not looked after properly, think a lion mane.

Once I've washed my hair, the first thing that goes into it is the Dove Hair Therapy Oil Conditoning Spray. This does everything. It de-tangles, it softens, it is a leave in treatment - it's just awesome and I love the Dove Hair therapy line anyway. On to serum and the John Freida Frizz Ease Extra Strength Serum is an all rounder kind of product. It has 6 jobs but mainly, it protects, smoothes, hydrates and tames so this is a vital step in controlling the mane.
As for styling, I always start with the Tresemme Instant Refresh Volumising Dry Shampoo just to give some texture and hold to the hair which makes it perfect for styling in whichever way you like.
To give some added texture and grit to my hair so it maintains it's style for longer, the Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray works wonders. You don't need much of it for it to make a difference but it's nothing too crazy that will make you look like a mad scientist with hair pointing out in all directions. Unless that's what you go for.
Once it's styled and done, a quick spritz of the Got2be Volumizing Hairspray which gives a nice hold and doesn't feel crunchy or hard.
