A Feature: August Birchbox

Alright, so it's Birchbox' turn to be in the spotlight and I'm pretty excited about this one. The theme is Away We Go. A summer, travelling related post. Everything to get you on that plane with the essentials. First off, look how darn cute that bag is. Perfect for travel size goodies where there's limited space available.

1. Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect | £20
This is a leave in conditioner which also de tangles and protects against heat and sun damage. What more could you want when you're out in the sun all day. I'm looking forward to trying this. Although I love the Dove Therapy Oil one, this is a handy travel size bottle too. I doubt I'll be buying the full size for £20 but I'll definitely let you know if it's worth it.

2. Chella Ivory Lace Highlighting Pencil | £15.95
I've never heard of the brand Chella before but I love these highlighting types of pencils so I'm looking forward to giving it a go. When's watching it feels so creamy and easy to blend that I think it will be perfect with my skin tone. This could highlight the inner corners of the eyes, under the brow and even used to clean up around the brows.

3. Nude ProGenius Omega Treatment Oil | £58
I know, I know, the price is just ridiculous. Let's just put that aside for now. I have heard numerous rave reviews about products from this brand but I haven't had the chance to try any yet. I love oils, and treatments, so an oil treatment is my kind of skincare duo step. Okay, so the price is ridiculous but who knows, it could be worth it. The Estée Lauder ANR Serum is and that's just heavenly.

4. Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator | £26
Second skincare item in the box, they know me to well over at Birchbox. This is an exfoliating cleanser which has papaya enzymes (comparable to Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel maybe?) and also contains Aloe Vera for cleansing. Sounds amazing right? Right. This should be a good'n.

5. SuperGoop! Daily Correct SPF 35 CC Cream | £32
This one was slightly disappointing. Don't get me wrong I'm all for SPF's in the summer boxes, but two pathetic little tubes of something that is far too dark for my face. If I wear that I will look like I've been tango'd and we all know how much that thought gives me the heebie-jeebies. The SPF is brilliant and I like that they have tried to do the whole CC thing with it too but that has now put me off this product completely and I'm sure it does others too. Although they're a multi use, one step product, they're no where near suitable for the paler skinned of us and the market is then not as vast as it was before the tint was added to this product. Rant over. These diddy samples will probably be going to the bottom of the jar of samples I have collected... Alright a vase...

... And won't see the light of day again.

6. The Proposal by Tasmina Perry | £7.99
Something I never expected to get in a beauty subscription box is the first chapter of a book. I've read some of the authors other books and really liked them and I love how they have incorporated this into the August travel edition of Birchbox. Sneaky, but brilliant.

Overall, I'm happy about most of the items I received. At least I received what I was supposed to... Unlike Glossybox (who still haven't sent me my missing item from Julys box) ... And I'm looking forward to trying some of the items out.

Have you tried any of these products?
