The Makeup Bag #8 - The Current Everyday Makeup Edition

08:00

So Summer is here - at last - and my makeup has been changing quite a lot so I thought I would share what's in my everyday makeup bag on this fine Sunday morning.

Complexion:

Although I have some favourite primers, I don't use those particular ones every single day, I chop and change with them on a daily basis, my most used are the Maxfactor Face Finity Primer, Benefit Porefessional, L'Oreal Lumi Magique, and the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. I've still been using two on a daily places on specific parts of my face and this really works well for my skin.
Onto base now and there's a few I have been totally obsessed with. Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, NARS Sheer Glow mixed with Maxfactor Face Finity Foundation, and the Bare Minerals Original Foundation has been a total lifesaver with adding some extra coverage where needed.
As for the nasty dark circles that have oh so kindly graced my face - as if I didn't have enough issues already - there's been a few products that have made it slightly better and bearable but haven't covered them completely. There's a combination of products which I have been using together and really like them. First is the Garnier 5 Sec Perfect Blur Eye Primer, which just creates a smooth surface for the concealer. Speaking of which, I go in first with the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer to counteract the dark circles and then the NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer for it's excellent coverage skills. Definitely a concealer duo combo I shall be sticking with.
Just to make sure that all stays in place, I use the E.L.F HD Under Eye Setting Powder which also helps to brighten the area too.
For stubborn blemishes that foundation simply won't cover, it's the MAC Studio Finish Concealer and the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer as they have amazing coverage and if set with some of the BM Foundation they stay covered all day. The Vichy Dermablend has also been a stand out product for me over the last few weeks, the only gripe I have with that is that the shade is a tad too dark for my skin.

Cheeks:

There's been a few products that I have been gravitating towards and most recently it's been the Honey Bronzer from The Body Shop which is pretty much the only bronzer I have used. The No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter has been my go to when The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer was too much. Finally, I've been trying to get away from the M.A.C Well Dressed Blush, not because I don't like it anymore (my obsession is still very real for that blusher) but because I have other things to use too so the Bourjois Cream Blush in 03 has been a brilliant stand in along with the No7 Pop & Glow Cream Blushers and the Topshop Cream Blush in Afternoon Tea which is perfect for a bright cheek look with very neutral makeup everywhere else.

Eyes:

My eye makeup changes every single day, but the products I use don't change much. I have been loving to prime my eyes with the Urban Decay Primer Potion in ?? Which just keeps any eyeshadow crease-free and also smooths out my eyelids to get rid of any veins or discolouration. The NYX Powder Eyeshadow in Dallas is the eyeshadow I use pretty much everyday through the crease, especially when I have just winged liner on - which I use the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner as I find it so easy to control, and although it's not as black and opaque as I like, it makes doing eyeliner super easy. I love using Urban Decays Naked 1 Hustle eyeshadow and the Naked 2 YDK either on their own or mixed together along the lower lash line. Or even the Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner in Bronze is my favourite thing to use (although I am a fan of all the other colours from that range too). If I'm not doing winged liner, I'll smudge it along the top and bottom lash lines to add a bit of smokiness and make me look like I've made a bit more of an effort.
I've got 3 mascaras that I have been alternating between recently. 1. Maybelline Go Extreme Mascara which really surprised me, the brush looked a bit funky but gives good volume and separation and my goodness this is so waterproof it takes a good 5 minutes to get completely off. 2. Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara is a new must have mascara that I will forever repurchase as I love the brush and how it separates the lashes and adds definition. 3. The L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara which is my most recent addition that I was also really surprised with but I'm pretty darn impressed with.

Lips:

I've been wearing more nude lips recently. Bright lips are just too high maintenance for me at the minute and I love how these products look. Up first is the Soap & Glory Super Colour Fabu-lipstick in The Missing Pink which is the most beautiful, perfect nude/pink shade with a brilliant formula. I like to add the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 01 over top to add a little moisture and some shine. Plus, they smell amazing. Next is the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Elusive which I think is just an amazing all rounder. It's matte, not hugely drying, looks amazing, blends well and wears really good too. I like to just lightly pat this into the lips for a more everyday, wearable look or build it up if going out. Finally is the L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire in Molto Mauve which is a "your lips but better colour" which is such a highly pigmented, super nourishing, oil formula lip gloss and this has been the shade I have been using the most out of the shades I have.

I hope you liked seeing some of my current favourite products. Feel free to let me know your thoughts on any of these products, or some of your current favourites.

Have you got any product recommendations??
