A Feature: July faves

12:08

This month I have tried a lot of new products, all of which I have loved. Over the last few months, not only have I been trying out many products, but I have loved many of them too, so my weekly round ups and monthly faves have had quite a hefty content. So I thought I would break it down a little more - today is the products I have been loving and tomorrow's "what else happened" monthly post will show any particular things I have liked during the month.

Makeup:

Starting off with makeup, there's a new mascara combo I am in love with at the minute. The Soap & Glory Collagen Mascara and Maybelline Go Extreme Waterproof Mascara are just the perfect duo for making my eyelashes look long and defined with some volume thrown in too. I prefer using a waterproof mascara which is how I came across this combination but it works really well and is perfect for everday wear.
Carrying on with the eyes, there's an eyeshadow palette which has stolen my heart. The Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette turned up on my door at the beginning of the month and I have used at least one shade in it every single day (that I wear makeup). The quality of the shadows are impeccable. From the pigmentation down to the variety of shades and finishes. This palette is the perfect travel essential and I will definitely be taking this away with me next time.
Onto brows and there's one product which has really stood out to me this month which is the Benefit Gimme Brow. This is like a mascara for your brows. It coats the brows with pigmentation and fibres to give a more fuller, defined looking brow without having to add tonnes of the stuff. It's so easy to apply and although it's quite high for such a tiny little thing but it's worth it. The Maybelline Brow Drama is a good drugstore alternative which will suit any of you on a lower budget. A review/comparison will be coming out on my website very soon.

Now on to the face and the first thing I wanted to talk about is something I received in Julys Birchbox. You guessed it. The Beauty Blender. I have tried cheaper alternatives including the Real Techniques offering and many more. But I have to agree, the BB is the best by far. I have used this for applying foundation, blending in concealer, even for highlighting or blusher. It's uses are many and I am looking forward to finding out more ways to use it.
The Sleek Correct & Concealer Palette has been a must have for me this month. I love the consistency, the coverage, the compact, easy packaging. I think this is a brilliant product to have and I am definitely going to be repurchasing this when I run out (which is going to take a while I think). But I use this mainly for covering spots or redness but the pinky shade is good for under the eyes too which I do often use.
Sticking with the complexion products, the highlighter I have been using this month is the Benefit Sun Beam. One of the points in tomorrow's post has made this a definite must have in my daily makeup. I just love how it looks, how it applies and blends in and the sheen it gives to my skin. To set all my makeup in place. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light has been what I have gravitated towards more to continue that glowing complexion vibe. I had stopped using it a little while ago but now I am back to loving it again and it's made my skin look so much better.

Finally for makeup is lipstick and last months was the Soap & Glory Matte Lipstick in Pom Pom, and this months is the shade Blush Pink. Another nude pink shade I know but I love the formula and the shade is just so stunning I can get enough. Nude lips are definitely my perfect summer look as bright colours are just too high maintenance in the heat we have been basking in this month.

Hair:

My only favourite which isn't a makeup one is the Aussie Aussome Volume Miracle Dry Shampoo which I have been pleasantly surprised with. You may have seen it in a weekly round up this month but as I said then, this certainly packs a punch in the volume department, but it can get pretty gross and crispy very quickly so as long as you don't apply too much, it's a brilliant volumising, refreshing, oil removing product.

Two honourable mentions for this month are products I have spoken about numerous times before, but haven't done so recently. The Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask and the Alpha H Liquid Gold have been staples in my skincare routine this month and I am as impressed now as I was back then. These I feel have really helped my skin, especially in this heat and dryness, so I still highly highly recommend these skincare products.

I can't believe there was no skincare items apart from the honourable mentions. I think that's the first time that's ever happened.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the "what else happened" post where you get to see some beauty (and not beauty) things I have been continuously doing over the last 31 days which have stood out and that I wanted to share with you.
