A Weekend Post: The Weekly Round Up #26

08:00

I have quite a few products this week. I have been wanting to try all of these products for a while and I was sent a few things as well as purchased some testers and was really amazed at the performance of every one of these products. Just. Outstanding.

The last two weeks have been totally hectic as my parents decided to rip the bath out and install a shower cubicle and there was a lot of tiling to do (which I am now a pro at) and lots of annoying little things with lots of obstacles and curveballs along the way. But it was finally finished this week and I have been loving having a shower rather than a bath. So that is definitely the first favourite of mine this week.

Next is something from a brand I haven't tried before and that's Kiehls. I've heard a lot about them and there was two products I was super keen to try and I am so pleased I did. First is their infamous Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate and then their Kiehls Avocado Eye Cream. The MRC does an amazing job at just smoothing out the texture of my skin whilst hydrating and treating my problem areas too, and I have seen a difference in my skin already and I've only been using them this week. The eye cream is possibly the best one I have ever tried. I have a few issues with fine lines under my eyes and concealer tends to crease like a biatch so I thought I would try a super moisturising one... And this one is moisturising all right, and thick but not in a way that leaves my skin feeling greasy or where the product just sits on the skin. It sinks in so fast and just smooths everything out and it's also meant to help with dark circles which I'm excited about, so I really love both of these so far. Again, I can't recommend them yet as I haven't been trying them for long enough but so far so good.

Another skincare item that I've introduced into my routine after I heard so many amazing things about it and people recommending it is the REN Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask which I've used a few times since I've had it and I must say I am liking it so far. It just really helps to clean out my pores, help with any congested areas and overall give a nice deep clean to my skin which sometimes it needs every once in a while. I am also trying out some scrubs and other products specifically for unclogging pores and stuffs so be on the lookout for a post on that soon.

I have been in desperate need for a manual face scrub as I have been noticing some blocked pores and dry patches around my nose, and a muslin cloth is just not enough exfoliation for me anymore, as I have also cut down on the chemical exfoliation too. So anyway, the scrub I have been trying out this week is the Clean & Clear Morning Energy Skin Energising Daily Facial Scrub. I remember using the yellow one a long time ago and I liked the consistency and the beads it had in it. Now i'm not normally one for Clean & Clear products nowadays but this has been the one I have been trying out this week and I am super impressed with it. It's a daily scrub so the particles aren't particularly harsh or abrasive, it's incredibly refreshing and light and it smells pretty darn good too. Plus it doesn't leave my skin feeling too dry, although I do find I have to use a balm or cream cleanser shortly after otherwise it does get a little tight in places but other than that, I am really liking this so far. It doesn't have any spot fighting ingredients in it and I've used this pretty much every night this week and my skin hasn't reacted badly or anything. I have some others to try out so you may see them being mentioned here and there too.

You may or may not know that I have had some weird ass thing going on with my lips recently in that they're super dry and flakey and when I apply a lip product it just feels like my lips are chapped when they're not. So anywhere, to try and sort this out once and for all, I re-purchased the Nuxe Rev De Miel which to be far I was always going to repurchase it and I'm so glad I did. I've been using that in conjunction with the Blistex MedPlus Lip Balm which I've seen a lot of people mentioning and raving about recently, and basically it is a lip treatment which uses Jojoba Oil and Cocoa Butter and also some Menthol which all together create this tiny pot of moisturising, restoring, soothing goodness. I'm super impressed with how this has made my lips feel and although it hasn't sorted out the problem instantly, it's doing a pretty darn good job.

Onto makeup now and starting with a foundation (as they always seem to appear in these posts) I have pretty much only used the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation all week and I am totally in love with it. I've had some redness and irritation (from another product I've used) so I've needed some extra coverage and this seems to be the only one that looks nice on my skin when nothing else seemed to so I am really happy with this.
I have also been getting into setting my makeup with powder especially where I have applied concealer and I have been using the ELF HD Under Eye Setting Powder which I have really been liking. At first I thought it was a tad to glittery and would be too sparkly for me but it doesn't come off as chunky as when you look at it in the pot and it gives a really nice brightness to the eyes - and I need all the help I can get with these dark circles.

Onto hair products now and I picked up a few things recently and I have been loving 2 in particular. First the Got-2-be 2 Sexy Big Volume Push Up Volumising Hairspray which smells amazing, has really good hold and gives lots and lots and lots of volume and texture to the hair, but you can settle it down a bit if it goes too overboard. Next is the Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Thick & Full 3D Boosting Creme, you know I love the texturising spray thingy from Charles Worthington and this range seems to do really well with my hair so I've tried this and I am totally obsessed. It comes out a pink gel type texture and you just whack it on damp hair and apply evenly all over the hair, even in the roots and this gives you texture and volume and smells amazing and it says it's supposed to prevent frizz in humid weather and I have been trying it out as it's been miserable yet still quite muggy and humid in the UK and this has done pretty well so far so I have high hopes. If you're on the lookout for a volume boost then check out the Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce range. I highly recommend.

Wow. That was a lot of favourites all in the first week of June. I hope you have found it interesting to see what I have been using and loving this week. I'm slightly concerned with all the things I am trying and that I haven't been disappointed by anything really and have been liking even more that didn't quite make it in this week but who knows, so it's good I like everything I'm trying but not looking forward to writing my June favourites if this is going to happen every week. I hope you have enjoyed this weeks theme, and don't forget to check out tomorrow's Monday Mani to find out next weeks theme. Thanks for reading, take care.
