A Beauty Chat: Bare & Bold #3 Red Lip

So here is one of the most classy and sophisticated looks if done right. The red lip. Of course there are so many different looks that can be worn with a red lip, and lots of different reds to choose from, but here's my favourite look to wear, keeping the eyes and cheeks very bare and the skin and lips very bold. The Body Shop Honey Bronzer // Bourjois Cream Blush in 03 // No7 Highlighter // Soap & Glory Brow Archery // Maybelline Brow Drama // Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner // Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara //  )

Bit of a strange order this one, but for the cheeks, I'm going for a bronzed cheek with a touch of blush so of course, as before, it's the Honey Bronzer from The Body Shop and the Bourjois Cream Blush in 03 just to add a slight rosy flush to the cheeks. The brows are also the same as the past two posts, using the Soap & Glory Brow Archery Pencil to fill in the brows and the Maybelline Brow Drama to set them in place. As for the eyes, it's pretty simple. Using the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner I'm going to create a slight wing with a super thin line along the lashes, just to define them and give a slight cat eye effect, nothing to heavy as we want the focus to be on the lips.

Benefit Porefessional // Clarins Beauty Flash Balm // Revlon Colourstay Whipped Foundation // Maybelline Instant Age Rewind // Rimmel Master Perfection Concealer // Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Striking // )

As for the complexion, using the same primer combo as yesterday, the Benefit Porefessional and the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm then it's on to the fun bit, the skin. Now I prefer to have quite a full coverage when it comes to a red lip, only because I feel it just looks better and doesn't excentuate any of my imperfections. So there's only one product that comes to mind. The Revlon Colourstay Whipped Foundation I love this stuff for creating a flawless base and it just lasts so long and stays looking perfect. Again, the same concealer combo as before, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind and the Rimmel Master Perfection Concealer which does an okay job of covering my dark circles, and also like to use a bit more of the foundation on any blemishes or stubborn redness.

Now for the boldest part of the look and probably of any of the looks this week. The red lip. I chose a matte balm from Revlon just because I prefer a matte red but it's up to you whether you go for the matte look or the shiny/glossy look. The shade Striking is the perfect red for my complexion I feel, not too dark, not too orange, and has just enough pink and blue tones in it. Perfect.
