3. Summer Ready Sweat Proof/Waterproof Makeup Look

08:00

Following on from yesterdays summer edit post, I thought I would show you my favourite long lasting, sweat proof, waterproof makeup look using the products mentioned in the post. Hope you like this look and let me know if you have any tips for keeping your makeup lasting all day through the summer heat. Check out my Instagram to see how this looks on me.

Primer:
This is such a vital step, not only is the makeup you use important but making sure your skin is prepped is even more important. Any primer is suitable, whether it's a silicone based one or even a luminous or matte primer. If it keeps makeup in place and does what you need it to then it's perfect. My favourite is the Benefit Porefessional

Long lasting foundation:
Continuing with the long lasting theme, foundation is an important step for me. I don't like to not wear foundation. The Revlon Colourstay Whipped Foundation is my go to for maintaining a good coverage, weather resistant makeup look. The good thing about this (other than it's lasting power) is that it feels lightweight and feels like silk on the skin. It's not like a mask, feeling heavy and looking cakey. Believe it or not, the longer you wear this the better it looks. I prefer the whipped foundation but the liquid foundation is still a good formula and performs the same.

Bronzed skin:
Everyone wants a sun kissed, bronze glow and I am no different, I am ridiculously pale and so bronzers are difficult to find that match my skin and look natural. But the The Body Shop Honey Bronzer is a perfect shade for my skin, and there is even a paler one too. I apply this to the perimeters of my face and bronze my skin rather than contouring. This is a matte bronzer. But for this look you can also use a bronzer with some shimmer in to give a really pretty sun kissed glow. I also like to add a pink blush on to the cheeks, very lightly, just to give a subtle flush to the skin, and my favourite at the minute is to use a cream blush like the Bourjois Cream Blush in 03.

Waterproof eyes:
This is pretty obvious and as I said in my Summer Edit post, there are many long lasting, stay in place eyeshadows, cream bases and jumbo eye pencils which just scream summer days on the beach or out in the sunshine. But my go to look for the summer is pretty simple. The Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On & On Bronze is perfect as a quick sheen across the lids and smudged along the lower lash line. I also like to apply a bit of the Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner in Bronze along the top and bottom lash line to add a bit of definition. This is my favourite makeup look, and sometimes I just do one or the other but I really like the look of both the cream shadow and eyeliner. These can of course be switched up for different shades.
As for mascara, the Maybelline The Rocket or Go Extreme Waterproof Mascaras are just amazing and I highly recommend them.

Lips:
Whether you want to go for a light lip look or prefer a stain or bold lip. This Revlon Just Bitten kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick is a beautiful bright pink shade which stains the lips and lasts through eating and drinking. It can dry the lips out a little bit so please do apply a lip balm on before hand, preferably one with some SPF to prevent sun burn on your lips as it just is not nice.

I hope you found this helpful using products from the summer edit post yesterday. If you have any summer makeup essentials then please leave them in a comment below. Tomorrow shows you how to get a dewey makeup look so be sure to pop back tomorrow and everyday this week for Summer Ready posts.
