A Feature: Over night skin saviours

14:58

Night time is the perfect time to treat your skin. Not because your skin has a 8 hour window to "breathe" but because there's no makeup or environmental elements to disrupt the treatments you apply, and all of these just soak into the skin anyway leaving (possibly) a shiny face but who cares about that, you're asleep. Lucky buggers. But we've all been there where we just don't feel too hot. Be it a hefty consumption of all things alcoholic and sweet, or some junk food and ice cream that you just could not say no to. Or even whether it's just a late night, not enough sleep with some stress and worries to go with it. We all have those times and I have a few things that will help improve your skin overnight. Not all of these together though, depending on what your skin needs - just thought I should mention that.

1. The first treatment which is a total skin care saviour in my book is the Eau Thermale Avene TriAcneal Cream, which is possibly the best spot treatment I have found. But not only does it reduce the inflammation, redness, stinging scale and the actual spot, but it smooths the skin out, prevents breakouts and moisturises the skin too. Incredible right? Right. It's amazing and I use this every night on any imperfections or redness and the results are just brilliant. (Review will be coming up soon).

2. Next is Indeed Labs Hydraluron, and although this isn't a treatment as such, the after math of this is pure amaze balls. This is packed with Hylaruonic Acid which is something that retains water in massive amounts, so for dehydrated skin, this is your missing power ingredient.

3. Origins Drink Up! Intensive Overnight Mask is a product I thought I would hate, but I can admit when I'm wrong, mostly. Firstly, overnight masks, not as bad as it sounds. Secondly, this stuff is da bomb. It plumps, hydrates, smooths, evens, de-puffs, refines, it just does a heck of a lot and all in this little tube. When my skin is looking dull, lack lustre, or in need of a huge blast of something, hydration wins it every darn time.

4. Up next is something that has been very hyped up and for good reason. The Alpha H Liquid Gold is a chemical exfoliator, and by that I mean there's no scrubby particles in it to scratch your face. This works much deeper. Marketed as a powerful skin resurfacing, firming treatment for sun damage, wrinkles and pigmentation, this has so many other uses. It has Glycolic Acid in it which is the chemical exfoliating agent which promotes skin cell renewal. So it basically does everything a manual exfoliator does, without the beads and so much more. It brightens, it clears, it smooths, it tightens, and if used right and regularly, it can give some serious results. This stuff is a good skin day in a bottle.

5. This product is, in my opinion the best serum EVER! The Estée Lauder Advanced Night RepairSynchronised  Recovery Complex ll has a ridiculously long name and a hefty price tag, but worth every penny in my book. Being so expensive I got a sample of this online, and the second night I tried it, I went and purchased the full size. This smoothes, renews, hydrates and brightens my skin whilst also reducing any lines, making my skin look more youthful and radiant and just makes my skin look awesome. Possibly my favourite skincare product ever. EVER!

6. An oil now and the Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil is another product I use pretty much every single night. I apply 3 drops of this in with the ANR serum and apply to my skin. This has helped reduce scars, freckles, breakouts and dry patches, this stuff has changed my skin, and mixed with the serum, it's a power duo that everyone should own.

7. Next is the Clarins Gentle Exfoliatior Brightening Toner which is a toned down version of the Liquid Gold. This is something that can prevent a build up of dead skin cells and encourage cell renewal, and whilst it's doing that, it smoothes, softens and brightens the skin.

8. Finally is possibly the most underrated product ever. Tea Tree Oil. When you're on a tight budget, or have tried all spot treatments and nothing works, try this stuff. It is incredible. Apply a small amount of the oil on your blemish, go to bed and in the morning, the inflammation and redness will have gone down, the breakout will be significantly reduced, and it is also antibacterial so it will help the area around the breakout too. I have put a post up for a DIY Tea Tree Toner so go check it out.

That's it for my over night skincare saviours, there are so many more products that I love and that have worked brilliantly so another post of similar sort may be coming your way soon. Possibly something to specifically tackle those dull and dehydrated, day after the heavy night before, kind of scenarios?

Do you have any overnight skincare saviours?
