A Feature: May Favourites

08:00

I can't believe May is over. I'm another year older, and we're officially going into Summer. Doesn't time fly? Any who, I have some new discoveries as well as some re-discoveries (I'm sure I say that in all my monthly favourites posts) so let's just get crack-a-lackin'.

1. Starting with the things I have been wearing every single day this month, my Pandora Rings. I purchased the pearl ring for my 21st last year with some of the birthday money I received as well as a few of the charms on my pandora bracelet. So this year I wanted to get some other pandora jewellery and decided on another 2 rings. First is a Daisy White Enamel Ring which is just so cute and is part of their Spring/Summer collection which is just stunning. Then I went back the next day and chose the silver cubic zirconia heart which is so pretty and simple. I often wear these stacked together, or I split them up and wear one or two. I love silver jewellery, especially rings and these will last me forever as they're such good quality, made very well and hopefully I will continue growing my stash.

2. Onto the beauty stuff now and starting with hair products, I have been loving the Dove Hair Therapy Oil Leave in Treatment which makes my hair so soft and makes it super easy to comb through when it's wet. I really like the Dove hair Therapy line and will definitely be picking some more up next time. I have also been using a volumising mousse in my hair when wet and once styled it really helps to add some omfph into my roots. The one I have been liking is the John Frieda Volume Building Mousse. But I may see if Dove have a volumising one or see what Aussie has to offer on that front. I have also been totally obsessed with a hair oil from Beauty Protector and this stuff smells amazing. I apply this just for the smell and it lingers so you get whiffs of it when you flick your hair or whatever. Plus it makes my hair super soft and shiny and also helps with any frizz or unruly locks. It doesn't leave my hair looking or feeling greasy and I often apply this two or three times a day and it's done amazing things for my hair, so I must find out where I can get my hands on this stuff.

3. Now for skincare and I only have one product this month, shock I know. But the Camomile Cleansing Butter from The Body Shop has been what I've used morning and night as I ran out of my Oskia one and I'm nearly at the end of my Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm but this TBS one has been really nice to use and it removes makeup and dirt well whilst leaving skin feeling so soft, plus it's such an amazing texture to massage into the skin it's just so relaxing and like nothing I've tried before.

4. Onto makeup and you may have seen me mention this a few times, but the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation has been pretty much the only foundation I have worn this month. It has such a beautiful finish and the coverage is customisable to your preferred look and although it was a pain in the butt to find in my shade, I am so glad I have it and I recommend giving it a go if you are looking for a higher end foundation. I like to mix it with a tiny bit of a more pinker toned one like the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation which is another light coverage similar to True match from L'Oreal or over the last week or so I have been mixing in the Maxfactor Face Finity 3 in 1 foundation which adds a little more coverage so I have really been liking the combination.

5. My dark circles have been super noticeable to me this month and I am not happy about how bad they are and how awful they look on me. I've never really been bothered by them before but for some reason they have become a huge concern, so I have been looking at what I can use to cover them up and I am especially loving the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in the brightening shade. This is a pinker tone and really brightens the area, I then go in with something like the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer or L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer to highlight and also add some coverage. If it's super dark one day then I add a little bit of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer but anyway, the Maybelline one has been really helping to hide those bad boys.

6. Onto brows now and the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint whatcha ma call it (yep that's it's proper name now) and the Brow De Triumph has been awesome at fixing up my eyebrows. I don't like to go overboard but the pencil end is super light and gives a nice and natural look, whilst the pen end can be used for more precise areas that can create hair like strokes so is perfect for those sparser areas. As for the other one, it has a super soft, perfect shade pencil to fill in the brows and the highlighter is perfect for the waterline, the inner corner and under the brow. Overall, I like, I like.

7. Finally is a mascara and the Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara is my new all time favourite, possibly even over my beloved Maybelline The Rocket Mascara. This stuff is just awesome and my goodness does it pack a punch when layered up. I am a huge fan of that type of brush so I'm super happy with how it makes my lashes look and I'm just obsessed.

8. Oops not finally I lied. I wanted to share some of my favourite lip products this month as I am just totally obsessed with these and have worn them all month. Starting with the Soap & Glory The Missing Pink Lipstick and the Clarins Instant Light Matural Lip Perfector. This gives a really pretty pink flush to the lips, smells amazing and I have really been preferring this look. The L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Lipsticks have been popping up everywhere this month, on blogs, YouTube, adverts, everywhere. These things are incredible, and I'm not sure if they're supposed to be a UK alternative for the Maybelline Elixir Gloss Things but I like these ones as they're oil based so they're super moisturising and I have a good selection of shades so is perfect for any occasion - although I want the other shades too, not like I don't have enough already.

Honourable Mentions:
Wanted to quickly mention a few other things as well that I have been super impressed with this month. First is the Lauren Conrad Beauty Book which has some amazing tips and advice for applying makeup, skincare and some hair styles too. As well as giving you a few things to keep an eye out for that you don't want to be using and putting on your face or hair, so this was really helpful and important and I have this book close to my dressing table to get some inspiration from it or try a makeup look or hair style so it's a really handy thing to have and I am looking forward to purchasing the Style book and any others LC has.
Also I have started a new weekly post on It's a beauty thing which is called Monday Mani, and each week I will be bringing to you a manicure that you can do at home, some nail art design,a tips tricks or even nail care, favourites, essentials and possibly even storage ideas too. So be sure to check back every Monday for that and let me know if you have any requests that you want to see for Monday Mani

Finally, the schedule for June is going to be slightly different. Every week in there's going to be a theme, and I will post every single day about that theme. This week is how to: create your own skincare routine, so be sure to stop by every day in June.
