A Feature: The Makeup Bag #2 Travel Edition

This weekend I am going for a long weekend away with my parents and pooch Darcy. As I currently don't have any plans to go anywhere this year I thought this is the perfect opportunity to show you what I pack in my makeup bag for our little vacation.

I use a primer everyday, in fact I use 2 primers everyday, the first being the Benefit Porefessional and the second being Bourjois Luminous Serum Primer. Both brilliant products and are easy to travel with. At this stage I also use an eye primer, and I have the perfect travel candidate. The Benefit Stay Don't Stray travel size. This is one of those products that makes me feel like a giant when I hold it in my hand. I'm such a loser. Any who, I also use this eye primer, under my eyes as a base for my concealer.

Onto foundation and I am taking the L'Oreal True Match in N1, this is a lightweight foundation so perfect for everyday wear, and the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation is also coming with me for some extra coverage. I have a few blemishes appearing so concealer is most certainly needed. First is the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighting Pen and Maybelline Instant Dark Circle Eraser for under the eyes and then the MAC Studio Finish in NC15 and Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair for those darn blemishes. I mean really, I was doing so well with my skin and now look. Darn you blemishes. Okay, to add some life into my cheeks it's time for blush, and I have two choices to take with me - as I know when I get there, if I only take one, I won't want to wear it and then who knows what I'll do - first is the Maxfactor Miracle Touch Cream Blush and the other one I'm taking with me is the M.A.C. Powder Blush in Well Dressed, I want to start using this more so I thought if I took it with me then I would have no excuse, plus I'm not taking a bronzer and it's nice to have a choice.
Finally for the complexion is to add some radiance into my skin, for highlighter, is the Topshop Glow in Polished and to set everything, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light. The Real Techniques Buffing, Contour and Detail Brushes are all coming with, as well as the Sigma F80 an Eco Tools Brush, a round top kabuki and a tapered brush is also packed.

As primer is already done, I'll get straight to the shadows I'm taking with me. The Rimmel Eyeshadow in Smoky Quartz and the Maxfactor in Bronze will be joined by Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner as well as the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Eyeliners in Bronze and a purple which I am keen to try, plus the Avon SuperShock Black Eyeliner and the Bourjois Brown Eyeliner. My mascara perfect duo, the Maxfactor Excess Volume Mascara along with the Maybelline Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara is my favourites at the minute for amazing lashes so of course they're packed too. For eyebrows, the Lioele Brown Pencil is the perfect brow pencil for me and I just always come back to this, plus it's so thin and easy to travel with.
As for brushes, 2 217's, and some other miscellaneous eye brushes including a pencil brush, flat shader and angled brush.
Eyes done? Check.

We're going to be surrounded by lots of trees, mud and fields so lipstick isn't exactly high on my list so the Nuxe Rev De Miel Lip Balm, Nivea original Lip Butter, the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector and the Maybelline High Shine Gloss in Fuchsia Flash will be joining me on our little adventure. Wow I need a holiday.
Lips done? Check.

Although it seems like a lot of makeup, it's a much simpler routine than when I'm at home as I like to try out different products and looks. Hope you like this post and let me know if any of you have any tips for packing "light" when it comes to makeup.

Pack "Light" or "Just in case"?
