A Beauty Chat: The Makeup Bag #3 The Makeover Edition

This week on it's a beauty thing we're taking a look at all things spring-y and boy have we got some amazing tips and looks for you.

But today's post is going to be a quick starter on how to makeover your winter makeup bag, to something a tad more appropriate for the Spring which is most certainly here now.

SPF is such an important product to wear, no matter what time of year it is, but spring tends to see the increase in SPF and the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock is really lightweight and doesn't clog pores or break me out which is, of course, brilliant.

When it comes to updating your makeup bag for spring, one of my main products I just will not leave the house until I've done it is prepping my skin, and by that I mean primers. I always go on about them so I don't want to spend too much time on them and of course everyone's skin is different. But when spring comes to mind, I always think, fresh and natural makeup, but still giving you the coverage you need. So I would first start off with a primer like the Bourjois Happy Light luminous Serum Primer or the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, or even my most recent purchase is the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Base and all of these gives my skin such an amazing glow.

As for foundation, a BB Cream is often what's preffered by people, something like the Garnier BB Cream or this one from L'Oreal. But I don't have any that give me enough coverage so I prefer to go for a light foundation such as the L'Oreal True Match or even something like the YSL Youth Liberator or the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk. You're probably thinking - oh no not these again - but I just cannot tell you how amazing all of these foundations are.

Onto cheeks now and when spring saw the winter, slightly darker, dusty rose type blushers in makeup bags across the world, it was time for a switch around there too. Here comes the pinks and corals. Whether you're a cream blusher type of gal or a powder blusher, there are so many options. Some of my faves are the M.A.C. Powder Blush in Well Dressed, or the No7 Pop & Glow Cream Blushers. There are some brilliant drugstore offerings too, from Maxfactor to Sleek and to Bourjois, which I love as well.

To go with those beautiful pink cheeks, is pink lips. I have been really getting into wearing pink recently and I just love a beautiful bright pink cheek with a matte pink lip. From Rimmel Colour Rush Balms to Revlon Colourburst Matte Balms and Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, there are some stunning pinks and I just love wearing them as it makes me feel that Summer is so close and it's time for the warm weather.

If you're like me, as soon as the sun comes out and spring is here, the dark polishes go away for another year and the pastels and bright polishes make their debut. Here are some of my favourites that I am totally loving this spring. It's a good way to update your makeup bag and say goodbye to the grey and miserable days - well not for us loving in the UK, no matter what season it is, there are still grey days.

Make sure to check back tomorrow where I'll be sharing with you some tips on how to get your makeup to last all day.
