A Weekend Post: The Weekly Round Up #12

There's been quite a few new purchases this month that I have been totally loving, of course full reviews will be posted once I have used them all for a decent time before I recommend them or not. But these products have really impressed me over the last 7 days. So let's get cracking.

Hair Care:
The Dove Hair Therapy products is something I have been wanting to try out for a while, and is finally found it at a supermarket (no boots in my area sells it or has it in stock) and I picked up the Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo. First of all, the scent of this is amazing, and it doesn't leave a white cast in my hair, it doesn't weigh it down, it gives a bit of an omfph to your roots.

I have been looking for a serum to use on my hair after I've washed it which protects, nourishes and cares for my hair but haven't found one that has really jumped out at me. But I saw the (not sure if it's new) John Frieda Frizz Ease serum line, there are quite a few options depending on your hair and what you want them to do. I picked the Extra Strength as it does everything I need it to. So it's a 6 effects serum which 1. Eliminates frizz, 2. Protects from humidity, 3. Protects from heat, 4. Smoothed, 5. Hydrates, 6. Tames. I have only started using it this week and I don't wash my hair everyday but I will definitely do a review on this when I have used it for a while as so far I am really impressed and it does exactly what I need it to.

Onto skincare now and over the last few months, my stress levels and diet haven't been making my skin very happy so I thought I would pick up some blemish fighting skincare products to use in the evening to try and take this pimples. First up is Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2 in 1 Wash & Mask, which I use once my makeup is removed, just to help clean the skin and blemishes, used as a mask this doesn't dry my skin (it's actually very soft and smooth after) and it doesn't irritate them or cause further breakouts so I am really impressed with this. I have also been using the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil Free Moisturiser, which I only apply on the areas prone to blemishes before I use my normal moisturiser on the rest of my skin. Both of these has made an improvement on the breakouts which I am very happy with and hope they will continue to improve.

As a targeted spot treatment I purchased the Avene TriAcneal for acne prone skin, which Avene says "has the superficial peeling effect of Glycolic Acid to help eliminate skin imperfections and smooths the skins surface. Retinaldehyde limits new breakouts and prevents residual marks" which is basically everything I want it to do. It has made a difference on some of the smaller blemishes so hopefully it will start improving the rest of them and those annoying yet painful under the skin breakouts. Fingers crossed.

Onto makeup now and I know pretty much every week so far I have had a primer of some kind in my weekly roundup and/or monthly favourites, and this is a new one I have been trying out - as apparently I don't have enough already - the Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer has been out for quite a while now when the foundation from the same line was released, and they also have a matte option too. As the name suggests, this is a serum primer, so it doesn't have that silicone-y feel to it which personally doesn't bother me a huge amount but this is very light weight and doesn't leave skin looking or feeling tacky or sticky. It doesn't have any shimmer in it (that I can see) but it just leaves the skin looking glowy and radiant, which is adds a nice subtle glow when foundation is applied. Which brings me on to my next product.

The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in shade 3 is an amazing foundation and it hasn't been mentioned on my blog as much recently as I have been trying out some other foundations, but this week, I have used this foundation every single day and I have fallen in love with it again. The application is so quick and easy, the shade is perfect and it looks amazing all day. I love it.

Next makeup item is a newly released product from Seventeen, it's their Cheek Stamp in Made you Look, when I purchased this I originally thought it was a cream blusher and having tried lots of Seventeen products before I knew I would like it. It's actually a powder foundation and this this is so highly pigmented you barely need any and it's so bendable with a brush that it gives a really nice pink flush to the cheeks. I got the brightest shade and I believe there are 5 shades in total priced at £ 4.99 with a huge Boots 3 for 2 offer on across all/most cosmetics.

A new realise from L'Oreal recently and it's these L'extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks, I have 5 shades in total but Rose Melody and Rose Symphony are the ones I have worn all week. They're so nice to weigh, they are really shiny and are very pigmented, especially the red one I have as well. But they are so nice, and as part of the 3 for 2 in boots they're definitely worth picking up at £8.99 a piece. Let me know what you think if you have tried these and the shades you like.

I don't always include accessories or jewellery very often on here but I have been loving this necklace this week. It's a beautiful statement necklace which I love wearing with just a plain black dress or black pencil skirt and plain top. I am really getting back into wearing my chunky statement necklaces so I am sure more will be making an appearance.

That's it for my weekly roundup this week. Although a lot of things I have loved using each and every one and I am so impressed with the new purchases so watch out for some reviews coming up soon.
