A Feature: Spring Edit 2014

Spring is pretty much here so that only means one thing...

Pretty colourful flowers...

...sunny days in the garden...

...and a beauty switch up...

When a new season comes around, things have to be changed. Clothes, makeup, skincare. So I thought I would give you a little overview of what I am switching up and the things I love to use in spring.

Starting with clothes. I have pretty much lived in fleece lined tights from Primark and they have kept my legs warm when jeans just weren't cutting it. But thank goodness there's been no snow or it may have led to thermal leggings under my fleece lined tights. Anyway, thankfully that didn't happen. So the normal tights are out and at easy reach. To wear with the tights, you ask? Why skater skirts and dresses I reply. Although I have worn the odd few skater dresses through these colder months, the bright red, blue, green, dresses are out and the skater skirts in bright red, mustard yellow, denim polka dot, black, white with black polka dots and a white with black stripes. I love these skirts and I just hope with my winter weight still lingering around I can still pull it off, if I ever did before. The light weight dresses and tops have made an appearance too. Although my wardrobe is a complete disaster right now, I'm sure there will be new additions being welcomed soon. Shhh, I can't help it.

My skin has been pretty dry over the colder months so I've got some pretty hydrating products. I don't think my skincare will be changing that much, other than the odd new cleanser that I really don't need. But right now my Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is perfect for the morning and is refreshing and lightweight enough but still hydrating. The Clarins Daily Energizers Cream is the perfect, lightweight yet hydrating daily moisturising which is refreshing and soothing on the skin, perfect for this warmer weather that's appeared. The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Spray is the perfect refreshing pick me up, used as a toner, after makeup, during the day. Whenever you feel your skin is in need of a spritz.

Onto the good stuff now, and there will be some posts later in the month about a rotation in my makeup products, but spring means that the lighter coverage, darker toned base products will be making an appearance, and my aim this year is to find a BB or CC or even a DD cream that matches my skin and gives enough coverage but is lightweight, and of course the fresh faced, dewey finish complexion that every so desperately wants. But the Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanner is there for when a natural skin day is all that's required. I'm hoping the summer is going to be as amazing as 2013. Let's just hope it doesn't get any worse, as the winter has been pretty reasonable where I live. The lighter pink and coral blushers are also making an appearance and with the new pink cream blushers I have bought and been trying recently I am really looking forward to some bright cheeks this Spring. As for lips, lipgloss has never been something I wasn't particularly keen on but now I love them so I hope that there will be many more to try and that I can get some confidence together and go out of my comfort zone a little.
