A Favourite: March Favourites

Happy Sunday everyone!!

This month has really flown by - mainly because I have been off work for most of it - but this month saw the final arrival of Spring, the sun has been shining, and the weather has been pretty darn cold and miserable, yep, it's definitely spring here in the UK. But it's the end of the month which only means one thing, it's favourites time.

March Weekly Round Ups:

I'm going to start off with nails for a change, and the pastel shades have made their way onto the nail polish rack on my wall and boy does it look pretty. But the shade that has been on my nails the most this month is O.P.I.'s You're Such A Budapest, this is the most beautiful pastel lilac polish I have ever tried. Due to my terrible experience with goodness knows how many bottles of the Barry M Nail Paint in Prickly Pear and the awful formula/opaque-ness/colour pay-off, I managed to get my hands on this shade by one of my favourite polish brands ever. The formula is perfect, it takes 2-3 coats to get it fully opaque and it's chip-free longevity of this little bottle of amazing-ness is the best ever.

This month, I have really enjoyed the skincare routine I have been using and my skin has shown huge improvements which, touch wood, will continue. The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair ll Synchronized Recovery Complex has played a huge part in that and I have pretty much come to the end of this bottle which means a shiny new one will take it's place on my dressing table.

A new product I discovered in February/March is the Garnier Micellar Water. I picked this up in Boots and have used it everyday since. I have never been a massive fan in using Micellar waters, but I have been taking my makeup off with this and although it doesn't get every last bit off, it is convenient for those times where I don't want to apply all my skincare yet but want to remove my makeup without having to go downstairs - I still use my skincare every morning and night, but this is for the lazy, I can't be bothered Sophie. I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes this for the convenience as well as the bloomin good effort it gives to removing makeup.

Finally for skincare is another new product which has completely changed my skin. The Avene TriAcneal is something I saw from - what a surprise - Kate from GhostParties talk about and my goodness she was right. This stuff comes in at £23 for 30ml but it is so worth it. This gets rid of blemishes like nothing I've ever tried before. Whether it's a fully formed breakout, or the first signs, this stuff stops it in it's tracks and reduces the size, redness and soreness over night. I use this every night as not only does it tackle and eliminate breakouts, but it also prevents future scarring, and with the Glycolic Acid, it smooths the skins surface and gently exfoliates. Sounds incredible doesn't it? I highly recommend this.

Onto makeup now, and I have been loving the winged liner look recently, and my favourite one to use is the Collection Fast Stroke Liquid Eyeliner in Black. This makes the application of liner so simple and precise that even for someone who hasn't worn winged liner in the longest time, I find it so much easier with this.

With the winged liner, I don't like to wear any eyeshadow as I like the very classic and simple liquid liner look, I just don't like leaving my bottom lash line bare, it just doesn't suit me. So I have been using the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Eyeliner in Bronze and smudging that along the lower lash line. I have been totally obsessed with this look and have had lots of compliments so I must be doing something right.

With this eye look, I have been very conscious of my dark circles, so I have gone back to using the Benefit Erase Paste in 01 Brightening. This has a salmony pink tone to it which is why it is the brightening shade. The salmon tones counter act the blue undertones and this really helps to brighten the whole eye area so I have been really happy with the results and can't believe I stopped using this at all.

Finally is the No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter which has been my go to highlighter this month. It's not too noticeable but it gives a beautiful sheen which just does amazing things for my complexion. Love this stuff and the Cheek Pop Cream Blushers are amazing too.

That's it for my March Favourites, but be sure to check back tomorrow to see what else happened this month.
