A Beauty Chat: Valentines Day Look #2

This look is all about the girls night out. Whether you're single or just need a night out, this is perfect.

Imagine this...
Work day is over, and it's time to forget the stress of the week, it's Friday night, so turn the music up,  get the girls round to get ready and go out and enjoy yourself. Whether it's a night out on the town, or more of a grown up and sophisticated meal before moving on to a night full or cocktails and laughs with the girls. This look is for you.

Starting off with makeup, we need something that is gunna stay exactly where it's put and still look as amazing as when you applied it. When getting ready I always remove the makeup from the day (if I have time) and start over again.

First is primer, for this look I am going to use the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch. A new addition to my primer collection but I have been really loving how this smooths the skin and minimises the appearance of enlarged pores and smooths fine lines. It's a little tub of heaven, and it has actually taken the place of the benefit porefessional I was loving, but I haven't forgotten about it.
For this look I went for the Yves Saint Laurent Youth Liberator Foundation as I love the finish it gives and lasts really well, especially with the Clarins primer. I then used the Seventeen Phwoar Paint Concealer under the eyes and on any redness that the foundation didn't quite manage to cover, and on blemishes and scars. On to cheeks, the E.L.F. Studio Cream Blush in Flirt was strangely chosen over the Maxfactor offering from Look #1, but I have had this for a while and I had forgotten about it, is a beautiful pink colour and if stippled on lightly, it leaves a beautiful sheen and healthiness to the cheeks. As I have fallen head over heels for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light, I felt it necessary to use in this look. It's an absolute stunner.
For the eyes, I went for a fairly smokey look to really stand out wherever you are. Starting off with the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On & On Bronze swept over the lid and smudged on the lower lash line, I applied the Rimmel Glam Eyes Eye Shadow in Smokey Quartz over the top with the Maxfactor Wild Shadow Pot in Burnt Bark through the crease, on the outer corner and along the bottom lash line. Finished off with Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kajal Kohl Black Eyeliner along top and bottom water line and a few coats of Maybelline The Falsies Big Eye Waterproof Mascara onto curled lashes and hang on, lets just take a minute to admire that perfectly easy and simple smokey eye.

Next is the lips and because I've opted for the smokey eyes and quite bright cheeks, I wanted to keep the lip very neutral and subtle so it doesn't take the attention away from the eyes. So an old favourite was dug out, the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey, which is perfect as the lasting power is exactly what is needed on a night out, and it can easily fit in your bag for any emergency touch up. But most of all, it's a "your lips but better" shade, which I have been loving recently. I also added some of the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 01 for a little extra shine.

For hair, I decided to have it fairly straight and used the Babyliss Big Hair Rotating Brush to add a little shape and texture to the ends and volume at the roots, and with the Charles Worthington Texturising Spray to add a little extra omfph.

I kept the outfit very chic and sensible with some black skinnies, a sheer white top with a gold sequin peterpan collar. With a black clutch, a pandora bracelet and layered faux pearl bracelets and some silver midi rings, add a smart jacket and some black patent heels (or flats) and not only will you refrain from getting frost bite but it looks very grown up and classy. The short skirts, no coat and no common sense days are long gone.
