A Beauty Chat: Complexion Perfection #5 The Products

This week on Its a Beauty Thing I have been covering everything to do with getting your perfect complexion, matte or glowy. But I thought I would give you a look into my current skin routine. And I'm all about the radiant, healthy glow.

#1 The Oskia Renaisance Cleansing Gel is my morning cleanser of choice at the minute as it is nourishing yet refreshing and doesn't irritate my skin at all. I am trying to finish my Origins GinZing Energy Boosting moisturiser which helps my skin look and feel healthy.

#2 There have been a few primer combos I have been using recently. My first one is the Benefit Porefessional and the Seventeen Skin WOW 3 Way Highlighter. Whilst the Benefit offering smooths out my skin leaving a matte finish, the Seventeen highlighter is perfect as a subtle, under foundation radiance booster and I find these just work beautifully together. A new primer duo I have discovered very recently is the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch and the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. The Perfecting Touch does a similar job to the Benefit primer, the Beauty Flash Balm is more of a skincare product which you just swipe the product over your skin without rubbing it in and then apply your foundation of choice.

#3 Moving to the base now and it won't come as a surprise for some of you but the Yves Saint Laurent Youth Liberator Foundation is my illuminating foundation of choice. Providing a good coverage, this create a very natural and radiant glow to the skin, but it's not too dewey and not too matte. It's so easy to apply and lasts all day. If you are looking for a more affordable option then there is the L'Oreal True Match, Bourjois Happy Light or the Rimmel Stay Matte which are all available from Boots or Superdrug at an amazing price. I use a brightening concealer round me eyes which is the YSL Touché Éclat and the Seventeen Phwoar Paint to cover dark circles, scars and blemishes, so nothing too fancy on the concealer front.

#4 My favourite product at the minute is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, which is an illuminating setting powder if you will. There are 6 different shades to choose from but the basics is that it adds a glow to the skin whilst almost blurring out imperfections, it's amazing how it works and is definitely worth the beauty blogger following and the hefty price tag. Thanks hourglass. A drugstore option is the Bourjois Java Rice Powder, although it is a loose powder and has a lot more shimmer in it, this is a fantastic alternative if you're on a lower budget. For translucent powders, the Rimmel Stay Matte and the Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Powders are really good affordable options too.
If you're wanting to add a little extra highlighter to your skin, something like The a Balm Mary Lou-Manizer Highlighting Powder is a perfect option. For a cheaper alternative, something like the Elf Studio blush in Gotta Glow is very similar to NARS Albertross Highlighter and gives a lovely sheen to the cheeks.

So there's my radiant and glowy complexion routine. It's not everyday that this occurs but most days I just cannot resist as I love the products that I use to get the finished look.

I really hope you enjoyed the Complexion Perfection week on my site and have hopefully picked up a few tips. Please let me know what you think and if you have any tips to share or any products that you love.
