A Beauty Essential - The 2013 Round Up: Skincare - Face and Body

19:13

It is finally the end of 2013. Christmas is over, and another year is dawning. So let's go through the best of the best from the last 12 months.

Face: My stand out product from this year has been the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm (must have hit the world record for how many times I have mentioned this by now). This has changed my skin, and I already have another tub waiting to be used. I use this everyday as my second cleanse and not only does it clean skin, remove makeup and smell amazing, it is just incredible for improving the skins texture.

Up next is a beauty blogger favourite and that is the Indeed Labs Hydraluron, this stuff has really helped my dehydrated skin and has made such an improvement with how my makeup looks now that those pesky fine lines under my eyes have been banished, hopefully for good. I have been trying out the Pepta-Bright from Indeed Labs which has amazed me already.

It wouldn't be the best of skincare, without the magical Alpha H Liquid Gold. As a chemical exfoliator, this sloughs off any dead skin to leave behind beautiful, new and radiant skin. In liquid form, soak a cotton round and apply over freshly cleansed skin, go to bed and in the morning you will see the difference. This is a good skin day in a bottle.

L'Oreal Skin perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil has been a statement for me in 2013. As my makeup remover of choice, this has been outstanding at effortlessly removing makeup and melting away every bit of it. This has also helped with my somewhat oily and spotty skin, but I am now rid of the very oily patches and I think this has had a huge part to play in that.

Last but by no means least is the Michael Todd True Organics Blue Green Algae Anti-Bacterial Toner. This has helped with the spotty side of my skin and has made a drastic improvement in the cleanliness of my skin and ridding me of bacteria that causes those pesky spots. Thank you Michael Todd, you are a true genius.

Body: This year has seen a lot of new discoveries for me and this particular one is perfect for my body moisturising-itis - It's a real thing. The Vaseline Spray and Go, has been the perfect answer for those lazy days when applying body butter is just the end of the world, or when it's cold and getting dressed seems like the only logical answer. A spray of this and you're nice and moisturised and it soaks in so fast you don't have to wait to put your clothes on.

The Body Shop just bring it with their infamous body butters and my go to one has been the Strawberry scent. I love how this is thicker and more solid than other body butters, but the scent is definitely the nicest one I have found (other than their Ginger Sparkle one which I have been obsessed with recently). They soak in fairly quickly and the scent lingers on the skin. There are some other scents I like so maybe I will find my signature scent for 2014 from them as well.

Time for body scrub now and I am absolutely addicted to the Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub. Not only does this smell incredible but it is just coarse enough to get rid of the old and dead skin and gentle enough that it doesn't damage it either. I am almost out of this and Santa didn't bring me any so I will have to take advantage of the 3 for 2 offer in Boots whilst it is still on.

That's it for my favourite skincare, face and body products. But stay tuned for my next post which is my stand out products for hair and nails over the last year.

What were your skincare favourites from 2013?
